You're forgetting about shoo-in's Shane Doan and Mike Smith.
First ballot's all the way.

So who gets the CCSLC vote of support? The Coyotes or Glendale?
Or do we just watch this burn down?

Obviously it would never happen but I feel if there was a Hawaii hockey team, they could have a really cool identity.

I think I did something to the Sports Logos section.
I was posting something in phone and I lost connection to the site (which seems to happen all the time at around 11:00-11:30 pm MST for me in phone). The post was put in the Ducks 2007 rebrand thread, but the thread wasn't bumped and it doesn't show that my post was the last one on the Sports Logos section screen.
Edit: It appears to have fixed itself now that other people have posted in the thread.

A lot of the CHL team names or even cities are weird, especially the WHL with the English versions of Native words and the Q being aggressively French.
-
From what I've learned here, they have to. The NBA primary logos have to have the city name and team name in it. Which is probably why so many teams don't use the primary logos a lot.
The (now old) Wizards logo and Pacers logo were grandfathered in.

Same amount of acid that led to creating this; While I like their colors from the Golden Seals era better, I prefer the O because it is better balanced. Criminally underrated regardless of which iteration.
regardless of the "O" or the "C" all I ever see if a fish head on an ice cream cone in front of a watermelon.
I can only imagine the amount of acid the artist who rendered that was on for it to look like a "seal" to him.
So I'm wagering not a lot.

It might just be a cost thing. It's probably cheaper to order black helmets in bulk than specially make green ones.
It could also be they're a new team and couldn't get green in on time.

Like this but a goat.

This is my favorite part of the article.
"Isn't that keen? A new hockey team in Las Vegas! Pry your father away from the slots and forget about Penn and Teller. Hockey in Las Vegas? That's so unique we just have to check it out. The Johnson clan from Branson, Missouri are in Las Vegas to have fun!"At the very least, the uniqueness of the market should allow Vegas to generate more revenue in the early years than some of the NHLs problem cities.

Add the fact it's against Ottawa on a weeknight, might have had less people racing home after work.

I'm getting ads on the top of the mobile site underneath the bar with the title and menu button, when I never have before.

No way the WHL will take Alaska. Just the logistics of travel is enough to keep them out.

Saskatoon is hard to get to by plane outside of coming from the major Canadian markets.

Is that before or after Twangle the 12th?

Since 1993, they've had 6 teams.

Rumor has it that Calgary will be moving its AHL franchise from Glen Falls New York (Adirondack Flames) to Atlanta. Sort of a long awaited homecoming for the Atlanta Flames fans.
Where did you hear that? That is so much worse than what the Flames have now.
Stockton was a city posted earlier in this thread for the Flames and that makes sense with the proposed West AHL.

The Prairies can get extremely freaking cold during the winter, especially in Winnipeg.
It's also because they can't get a date set.

To clarify I guess, the Flames let the Hitmen run themselves as a team for the most part, outside of some bureaucratic Flames Organization sponsored events. So the "retirement" and raising a banner was all on the Hitmen.Well that'll be pretty weird when the Ducks play in Calgary from now on.
But it would be weird to see yourself in the rafters of another team's arena.
Right, that's what I meant. You're not going to have that just about anywhere else.
And not just your name/number, but a picture of young you.
A picture of you with hair.... and the occasional frosted tips.

The Flames got the Hitmen (and Roughnecks last year) wrapped into the "Forever A ..." because the Hitmen "retired" Getzlaf today. Even though the Hitmen, like the Flames, had already retired a number.
