  1. If I'm not mistaken, isn't MSG going bye-bye at some point in the foreseeable future? What would be the odds of the Isles and Rangers building a shared arena ala Jets-Giants or Lakers-Clips? Knicks would have to go too.

I'm going to say very, very low. Repainting grass on a football field once a week and switching out tiles pieces of basketball court every couple days is one thing. Having to redo the ice surface every couple days (logo, ads etc.) is an entirely different beast.

  2. This isn't much of a question about the forum, but more of a question about design.

Have any of you got in contact with a team for a concept you created and had that concept become reality?

    also

Do any of you send concepts to the teams yourselves?

I've always wondered how this works.

I'm not sure anybody here sends out their work to teams unless a team has contacted them or the team is running a contest. The concepts here are (rarely) used for anything besides for fun. If teams aren't looking for jerseys, they wouldn't need some, especially not from an internet board. If they do need a jersey, they would go to an actual design company. You wouldn't go to McDonald's headquarters with a reworked Big Mac when they aren't looking for a new burger and they have their own R&D. Though I do believe there have been some who have won contests that teams were running and had their jerseys made and used.

And IIRC from some of the posts on the boards that there might be some sort of issues (maybe legal issues or just some sort of issues, maybe just some unwritten designer moral rules?) with a team using a random concept from someone who isn't with a professional designer.

But I could be wrong though.

  3. How can I put when I have an update besides my thread title. For example some users have the name of the thread and then they can change it when they put up a new concept in that thread. Like if you had an nfl thread and then you could put (Buffalo added) or something, I want to be able to do that

IIRC, edit your first post in the thread and it will let you change the title.

  4. Warnings won't change anybody's attitude BECAUSE IT'S A FREAKING INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD ABOUT SPORTS LOGOS. Both sides here need to realize that.

VG, it looks bad because you're repeatedly moaning in here about something that happens to every post deemed unnecessary to have its own thread when there is a perfectly good thread for it. And to the internet thing, you're whining that an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD isn't accepting your attempts at whatever you're doing, it's childish. Go do something that will matter to the family or your fellow personnel, donate or do whatever people have set up.

Everybody else just has to calm down about whatever the heck this is. Childish as well.

Not many people have had their ideals changed due to an internet fight. And nobody's going to remember this later.

  5. Most times there isn't a lot of fanfare around merging of topics, usually just a single post from a mod saying it was moved. But it's usually only for the topics that get large amounts of attention and people are looking for.

You're still allowed to post what you want, it will just get dealt with under the rules of the board or discretion of the mods.

  6. Can someone tell me why my new thread for I posted last night at 17:45 PST in The Lounge called "Cpl Nathan Cirillo Returns to Hamilton" was moved? Why was I not even messaged about it. I thought it deserved it's own post and not get buried in the the BS in the "Ottawa Parliament Shootings" thread.

I'm going to presume it's because it's a new post on an already made topic. It didn't warrant it's own thread.

The topic is new because it had to do with Cpl Nathan Cirillo's return to Hamilton by funeral procession, the outpouring of love and Canadian pride by people who didn't know Cirillo but felt a duty to say thank you for the needless slaying that occurred. It had nothing to do with the BS coward that shot him and events that surrounded the Parliament shootings. It deserved it's own thread, period! I don't believe it should have been buried in the Ottawa Shooting thread. Take it from me a current long serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces, most notably the Royal Canadian Navy of 18 years, who has done more and risked more than most of these moderators on this board. That 24 year old soldier deserves the recognition even if it's on this board to stand on it's own. I think it's a sacrilege and a dishonesty to us Canadians to push this thread to somewhere it doesn't deserve to be.

It does though, considering he was the one that was shot. I don't think anyone is trying to undermine what you, Nathan or any military personal do, but it was just a housekeeping issue mod wise.

The new thread had to do with Cirillo's funeral procession from Ottawa-Hull to Hamilton, Ontario. Not the shooting in Ottawa itself.

    It's still the same "incident".

We have the NFL thread and the Anti-NFL thread for all the issues going on behind the scenes of the NFL. If someone makes a separate thread for anything that comes out now (more suspensions, arrests, etc.) it would get moved into one of those threads. It's just the mod protocol here.
