    That works both ways. If records, stats, and wins are the exact same as Florida State's, but the name on the front of the jersey was NC State or Syracuse, this wouldn't even be a discussion. Alabama would be in. The committee leaves "pedigree" out its criteria, but we all know it matters.

    Look at the bright side, kids. This is the last year we have to deal with this nonsense. The debate next season will be over who is getting screwed out of the #12 spot. And that debate will be every bit as ridiculous as the debate over four teams so there's that, I guess.

    Everything is unprecedented until it happens. Florida State is currently providing the committee the perfect excuse to put Alabama in. The committee: "After a rigorous debate, we simply didn't feel that Florida State is one of the four best teams in the country." It's that easy.

    Maybe white people will drop their obsession with the cosmetic stuff and focus on the more pressing issues in the Native American community now. Who am I kidding? To do that would require more than the occasional outrage posts here and on social media - BBTV being the noted exception.

    Try to keep up, Van Smack. Neither of them playing on a short week certainly seems to be helping. Yeah, I've seen articles from players talking about how they don't have time to recover from a Sunday game before TNF, so their bodies aren't ready for the game, which contributes to the sloppiness. Again: no Thursday games without preceding bye weeks. Especially Thanksgiving.

    He's not wrong. It was always a rivalry, but all the "this is the only game that matters" bull is a fairly recent development. If it has always been this way then someone needs to explain to me why John Cooper was allowed to coach the Buckeyes for 13 years while going 2-10-1 against Michigan.
