  1. Pretty much. Bloc Quebecois retained only four seats in parliament in the 2011 election. NDP! NDP! NDP! I'm actually a great admirer of Jack Layton and was legitimately saddened when I heard of his death. As was I. If I were Canadian and of age, would have definitely voted for Mr. Layton in this past year's elections. My (Canadian) friend and I even "campaigned" for him down here in the States. "My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we?ll change the world." It's just a shame he never got a chance to lead the government of Canada. That quote is spectacular. I have a bunch of inspiring and/or beautiful quotes on Post-it notes on my bedroom wall, and that's one of them. Why am I picturing your bedroom looking a bit like this...? Not quite on that scale. Yet. And not enough Red Sox memorabilia.

  3. It was kind of the thing of the past generation, really. Most young Quebecois, from my own experiences and from the polls I've seen, don't give it much of a thought. The only reason the Parti Quebecois is still a force in the province is because it's the de facto left wing/progressive choice. I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop the separatist part of their platform in the next ten or fifteen years. Even with the fall of the separatist movement, though, Quebec still does consider itself a nation within a nation. The government confirmed that sentiment a few years ago. Not only is Quebec City called the "Capitale-Nationale," but the provincial legislator is called the "Assemblee nationale." Their logo's pretty French-Bourbon-esque and everything! http://www.assnat.qc.ca/fr/index.html So...sort of like Catalonia and Basque Country in Spain? Legitimate question, I'm just wondering.

  5. The current uniforms are ugly as . I don't associate championships with uniforms, which is why I wasn't butthurt when the Red Sox finally updated their road uniform. As a logo Elvis is better than Pat. However, the uniforms Elvis has been associated with...suck, while the uniform Pat is associated with is timeless and could easily be one of the best in the league, still. Sacrificing Flying Elvis for a return to the old uniforms would be an awesome trade for Patriots fans. Disagree. They are really not timeless. While the uniforms themselves may not seem that dated, you can't hide a dated helmet logo. I personally prefer Elvis, but a modernized Pat would do. LaFarge had a great one in the NFL concept championships. Flying Elvis with the red uniforms wouldn't mix. A modernized Pat logo would have to do.

  8. I agree. I get why people don't like it, but I still love it.
  9. Unpopular opinion: Ugh. No. Navy > "Powder" Agreed. Add another one. In fact, I love the Chargers' current set.
  10. What is Juan Pierre's "right" uniform? The Marlins? The Dodgers?
  11. I'll use NFL as an example beacuse that where it seems to be bad: I think knockoffs are populare because people are pissed off with Reebok. Reebok charges $80 for a jersey where the logos, numbers, and stripes are screen printed. You could also get an authentic jersey for $250. Then, there are the Chinese made jerseys which are meant to be the equivalent to an authentic. They may be knockoff, but for the most part it looks accurate and everything is nicely embroidered and go for $20-60. Which would you buy? Not to mention there's rumors of Nike upping the prices on NFL replicas when they take over for Reebok in April. Over $100 for a replica is bullsheet. If the logos numbers and striping are embroidered, I would be okay with that price. Me too, but because I'm a cynic I think they'll still be screen-printed.

  13. Amen to that. Best the Kings have ever looked.
  14. Umm...let's see here...they both have numbers somewhere on the jersey. Professional athletes play in them. And...uh...they're both made out of fabric.
  15. *winces at sight of Oilers' post-Edge uniforms*
  16. I agree that navy and copper look better than their blue and orange, but the red really threw it off. I don't know why a lot of teams in the 90s felt the need to add red. Not to mention that the Edge redesign royally FUBAR'd this entire design.
  17. Omar looks weird in any jersey that's not Mariners or Indians
  18. wat It's like they don't even watch the sport whose jersey's they're trying to reproduce.
  19. It's weird, but you'll get used to it. I never was a massive fan of Pap (I'm one of those guys who thinks that all closers are inherently overrated because the save is one of the worst statistics in the history of baseball), though I did attend his major league debut in 2005.
  20. In that case, I still disagree. While of course Ozzie's first and foremost uniform is of course the Cardinals, he doesn't look "wrong", so to speak, in Garvey-era Padres garb. At least in my view. You would be in the minority - and I'm old enough to know him as a Padre. I know and understand that I'm in the minority regarding the Wizard. Yes, the Cardinals are his first and foremost team, but I still don't think it looks weird to see him in a Padres uniform. One of those things I guess.
  21. Holy crap. You found a picture of Savard wearing 71. He only spent like nine games wearing 71 before switching to 91.
