  1. Bold is stuff I agree, strikethrough is stuff I disagree with.
  2. If you think this sig is massive, you should see the one I have on a political forum I occasionally post at. Five images, two quotes and a three-line assertion of my political beliefs (the forum is very lax with sig rules, obviously). I'm thinking about removing the SEGUIN image, because he's cooled down as of late, and is having some off-the-ice issues. Manchester United and St. Pauli are certainly on opposite ends of the spectrum, that's for sure. I love Manchester United because of the history of the club (the Busby Babes, the down years before Ferguson, the current Fergusonian dynamo) and just how fantastic the team is now (from the old guard of Giggs, Ferdinand and Carrick to the newcomers like Hernandez, Young and Welbeck), while I love St. Pauli for the reasons I said on the previous page.
  3. Many players will not sign fakes. Also, many of them have licensing agreements with companies that will not allow them to do so either. I've seen an interview with Wayne Gretzky where he said if you ever saw a fake with his sig on it that the sig is fake too. So, after some research (a Google Image search of "Phil Kessel autograph"), I've come to the conclusion that the the sig on the fake Kessel jersey is fake also. Kessel does have one of those signatures that seems to look different on each thing he signs, but I'm fairly certain that the sig on the jersey is fake.
  4. Hell, I'd just like to hang out in the St. Pauli neighborhood of Hamburg on a match weekend. That'd be loads of fun in and of itself.
  5. Man, that's obviously a fake. And Kessel still signed it? AND the seller wants $800 for it? Unreal. Wouldn't be surprised if the autograph is fake too. I was thinking that too, but I couldn't tell if it was or wasn't.

  7. Ok, it's time for me to come out as an FC St. Pauli fan, mostly because of the stupid reason I support them: they're the most left-wing association football team in the world. Their fans are virulently feminist and pro-gay (the club's former president was openly gay), and the club even went so far as to amend the club's constitution to include women, gay and minority rightsas core ideologies for the club. As a bisexual male, such a stand by a sports team is incredibly (for lack of a better term) awesome, and instantly won my fanhood the moment I read that. St. Pauli also has a wide following among the music world (particularly German punk rock, but British indie is also represented). Their fanbase is also probably more passionate than some Bundesliga clubs, which is saying something for a club that's toiled in the 2. Bundesliga and 3. Liga for most of its time.
  8. He probably had a Ron Paul avatar. Or, god forbid, a Santorum one.
  9. I agree. I expect to see that spreading to other teams, too (like the gold-tinted jerseys for the banner-raising game, which is common in both the NBA and MLB now). Well you can't really do it for other sports because room becomes an issue. You can't put an entire NFL roster on a banner. I meant the NBA. Should've made that clearer in my post.
  10. wait, i thought they played at Quest Field? CenturyLink bought out Qwest a few months ago, so the name changed.

  12. Definitely the case with Ryan Lambert, Puck Daddy's resident smug, uninformed contrarian. Only time he's come off as halfway-decent is when he pitted himself against John "Ovi's on steroids because his mom lived in Russia in the '70s" Stiegerwald, who is pretty much one of the worst sports people around. Oh, Lambert's a Puck Daddy douche. Okay. That's why I haven't heard of him.
  13. If you don't mind my asking, who are Travis Hughes and Ryan Lambert? Hockey bloggers that I don't care about?
  14. Agree entirely. I love every single aspect of this uniform set. Even the fonts and the way the "wave" motif affect them.
  15. This is the best Super Bowl logo ever. And this is the second greatest. And I'm not biased I just really love those logos.
  16. Incorrect. the Portland Pirates are the Buffalo Sabres farm team. the Rockford Icehogs are the farnm team of the Blackhawks. Uh...he means Portland, Oregon, not Portland, Maine. And he's referring to the Portland Winterhawks. The Winterhawks actually aren't the affiliate of the Blackhawks, they just wear a similar uniform. And the Sabres affiliate is the Rochester Americans again. The Phoenix Coyotes have the Pirates as their affiliate now.
  17. Red Sox: Family brought me into it. Bruins: Same Celtics: Same Patriots: Because it was local. My father was a Raiders fan. Raiders: Because when I was young I wanted to please my father by supporting the team he supported. Duke basketball: In addition to being a Raiders fan from Maine, my father was also a Duke fan from Maine. Manchester United: Because I love Wayne Rooney. Doncaster Rovers: In FIFA My Player mode, I would always choose a lesser-known team outside of the Premiership. I've chose Doncaster back in '09 because I like their kits, and I haven't looked back since. Celtic FC: My Catholic heritage (though I'm an atheist now). USC Trojans: I wanted to support a college football team outside of the dominant SEC.
  18. I think that some of them have become fans of the Bruins, because they're not the Habs or Leafs, but I'm fairly certain it's a small portion of the Nordique-fan-populace. I think most Nordique fans are simply waiting for their team to return.
  19. Fixed. Nobody is clammoring for hockey in Houston or Kansas City and Hartford has the fanbase but no arena and a minor league owner, like has been previously said "trying to ride the nostalgia wave". Seattle is a maybe. But only after Quebec City.
  20. I didn't like those at all, but I adore the Stars transition to college-style uniforms. Love these:
  21. Same here. I have 93-94 home & road Richmond jerseys, but I want the powder blues... @Redsox44 - there were also Heat & Bucks soul swingmen. The 81-82 Bucks jerseys are damn near impossible to find - I've seen maybe 3 or 4 on ebay in the last 5 years. There were? I didn't see any outside of the teams I mentioned earlier in the thread, at store.nba.com, so I assumed that they didn't make any more.
  22. Good luck with your search. Here's hoping the NBA commissions more Swingman Soul jerseys in the near future.
  23. Swingman Soul jerseys were identical to regular swingmans (swingmen?), but of retired players. I have a few, typical Adidas "quality". The Theus looks like a fake though - I'm not sure if Adidas released his jersey. Shame, 'cause I've been trying to get a couple of mid-80s Kings jerseys for a while. The NBA hasn't commissioned any Swingman Soul jerseys for the Kings. See here: http://store.nba.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=3378832 Just the Celtics, Bulls, Suns, Lakers, Nets, Warriors, Jazz, Rockets, Timberwolves, Knicks, Sixers, Blazers, Nuggets, Mavericks, Pistons and Spurs. ~~~~ Seriously. A comparison for those who don't know: It's not even close. I'm fairly certain they got the NOB font from the NHL Shop customization preview window, which is not quite that accurate as I think that may be that the shop is just simply using a single layer with automatic outlines that overlap the layer. See for yourself! For whatever reason, they must have just assumed that the white letters and numbers are also triple-layered. It's clear the counterfeiters didn't do hardly any research.
