  1. Revolution kit looks like it’ll be released at 10 AM but Taylor Twellman just posted it
  2. Speaking of UCLA, welcome to the B1G Edit - here is USC, as well
  3. First look at the chain stitching for the Cardinals. Not quite as good as direct embroidery, but I think they managed to pull it off quite nicely. The way the patch is applied is pretty subtle.
  4. Atlanta is unveiling their new away (already leaked) on Saturday 2/17. Hoping to see blue shorts.
  5. Better look at the new Orlando shirt. It’s fine for a one-off, but seeing this makes me glad they updated the crest when they jumped up to MLS.
  6. This Twitter account has a few photos of the new Jays Nike Elite (on field authentic). The Blue Jay embroidery is definitely a downgrade. Several photos in the tweet, as well as a video that goes into more detail.
  7. Padres are the second team whose pitchers and catchers have reported. It’s hard to see, but zooming in, it would appear they have the perforated numbers. Barely noticeable, though. Having seen a few of these teams so far, the MLB logo and name size isn’t really bothering me. I think the only thing that will take getting used to is the sleeve trim on a couple clubs. But I think on the whole, the Nike update is largely overblown. All other team’s pitchers and catchers report either the 14th or 15th, so we will get a look at everyone else in the next few days.
  8. I think the Jets look best in the Namath / Chad Pennington design. But if they’re not going to wear those, I like the throwbacks fine. I especially like the throwback helmet and logo. The modern helmets are super bland and I don’t like the black facemask. However, the throwback jerseys and pants are too generic. I’m not sure how I feel about this move.
  9. ^that looks like a genuine product. Definitely the kit before the redesign or at least a pre production sample of the direction they were going to go.
  10. Bayern are preparing to debut the all white combo against Leverkusen. This has been worn by other Bayern teams (either the women or second team, youth teams, I can’t recall) but has not been worn by the first team yet.
  11. And away we go! One of the first on field looks we have seen at spring training. Also, I’m wondering if the perforated numbers will be a team by team decision, instead of a league wide thing. We saw the Braves a week or two ago with the non perforated numbers and I assumed they were using old number stock. But now a few of the Nike Elite jerseys are starting to hit retailers. So far, the only clubs I’ve seen with the perforated numbers are the Dodgers and D Backs (below). The retail Nike image includes that number style for them, but regular numbers for most teams. This gives me hope teams have a choice.
  12. Nike definitely had room to give the Orioles and Braves their normal stripes so long as they used the thicker cuff. I don’t know why that solution wasn’t offered. I’m sure if the Braves knew about that option, they’d have gone with it because they’ve had that look dating back to the Boston Braves era.
  13. Best look yet of Atlanta. It looks like a custom phoenix, because that’s not the same bird as the one on the city flag. The yellow tape down the side has the Latin “Resurgens” and the upper back has the city seal. I’m assuming the name is curved because Bogi has a long name and they don’t have a custom print in the condensed MLS font for him. Also what I believe to be the first real photo of the LA Galaxy top. Looks better in person compared to the mockups. Real photo of NYCFC replica.
  14. This is pretty cool for me to see. Probably one of the few away kits I’ve liked for my club. I liked the original gray and light red kit and the white and peach one was cool. The others have missed. For those unfamiliar, this is the City of Atlanta flag with a phoenix to symbolize the city rising from the ashes: I had the opportunity to work on the graphics package for the supporters group Resurgence back around 2015/2016, which uses the same theme (logo top left). So for me, this is very cool to see the club lean into that imagery.
  15. I’ll have to see the BP caps, but I’m a little disappointed by this move. Using the ST caps only for ST and a separate BP design means they don’t offer these without the patch. Not that the caps don’t look good (most do), but I always loved getting the ST caps without the patch. And when the low crown started becoming widely available, the low crown, no ST patch was my bread and butter. I really like the Braves look, but can’t see myself picking it up with the patch.
  16. The Phillies CC takes the cake for worst in all of baseball. Holy sh** is that thing ugly. I’m tired of teams not looking like themselves. Some alternates are fun here or there but the City Connects that deviate too far from a team’s identity always fall flat. And that gradient? My gosh, that is abysmal. I don’t think gradients should be anywhere near the playing field, but they didn’t even attempt to give it a gradual transition. It goes straight from light blue to dark blue (or black, idk, I’m color blind) right about the midsection. It would still be horrible, but less so, if they gradually transitioned those colors across a bigger area.
  17. When do we expect the ST caps to drop? About a third of them have already leaked and I’m itching to see the full collection. I’m ready to pull the trigger on my red/navy Braves BP low crown without the ST patch. I used to buy them nearly every year and then New Era started mailing it in (plastic logos, bad materials, monochrome logos, etc). This year’s collection looks alright.
  18. ^Marlins look great! I love how they now have an established color palette with that concept. Currently, you look at their main jerseys (let’s say white, black, and gray, TBD how much they wear the blue since it’s new) and they’re basically just a black and white team. You see a tiny bit of blue and red but it’s so small and neither color is dominant over the other. This concept clearly establishes them as black and blue and vaguely alludes to their old teal sets, so I’m all about it. I think this would have more staying power than the teal, which quickly looked outdated.
  19. Did Nike fix the rising incline of the Nationals’ script? The old version could have been good but it looked bad because it was much too steep. It’s hard to say for sure, but the photo two posts above looks like the script is at a less severe angle. This replica would support that theory. Also, I missed it the first time I posted these a week or so ago, but the Nats moved the sleeve stripe into the cuff. They also flip flopped the color orientation on the new template’s collar.
  20. One of these years, MLS and adidas will move away from having to give every kit a name and it will be a great day. “We chose to add a red stripe across the shirt because it looked good” is much better than “The Bloodline Kit” or whatever other garbage they come up with.
  21. Couple looks at the Braves in the new on field template. The script and tomahawk seem a hair smaller. Sleeve trim has already been touched on, but still taking some getting used to. The Quikrete sponsor patch has changed from full embroidery to a cheaper patch with a thicker outline. It looks like the embroidery no longer goes deep under the placket to mask the clear separation (not sure of a better way to describe that). Also, they do not appear to have perforated numbers. Not sure if that’s something they were able to opt out of, or if they just slapped some old numbers on the new jerseys for their Fan Fest event. If you click the tweets, you can view the photos in higher res and a better aspect ratio.
  22. Seeing the real life photos of the Marlins reinforces that the changes are a big step in the right direction, but man, could they definitely be better. Particularly the black. In my opinion, I just don’t think they need red. It serves very little purpose in their color scheme. Clearly the emphasis is on black and blue. And the shade of blue is great. Pretty unique and distinctive. If done correctly, I think they could evoke the black and teal era but the blue would be more timeless and not reminiscent of a single decade in sports when everyone had the color. The City Connect should be the basis for an update. That script is so much better! It’s also much simpler because it has a single contrasting color whereas the current script has two trim colors. Imagine that design (with or without the pinstripes), but with a black base, white script, and that thick, vibrant blue drop shadow. The drop shadow would pop so much more than the new black jersey’s blue and red outlines. I could see a blue version with a white script and black drop shadow. And then white and gray with black scripts and blue drop shadows. The Marlins have long emphasized black and that would be a great way of continuing black while heavily showing off the blue because of that incredible script with the big drop shadow.
  23. The Nats are a mess top to bottom and need a complete overhaul. This is your main logo: The cap you wear the most at home: Your home uniform with a cursive script that matches your actual logo (although the script is positioned at a horrible angle): And now your new road and alternate uniforms. The road now features a block wordmark that matches nothing in the set, with double outlines and a new striping pattern. Your alternate features the logo you wear at home instead of your primary logo. Make it make sense! It’s like they handed a blank uniform to three separate people and said, “each of you make a separate design for us.” I think I prefer their original scripts with the monument style wordmarks. That set was consistent and unique. It also had a defined color palette of white/red/gold at home and gray/navy/gold on the road. I’d even take back their old design with the W on the chest, or that prototype from a while back that had the cursive Nationals in red. I realize not everything needs to be 100% matching, but there is zero brand consistency here at all. Just make things somewhat consistent!
  24. Marlins change look super promising and a big step in the right direction. I’d probably prefer a blue script on the black jersey, though.
  25. The coach positions being sponsored is basically the same thing as naming a building on campus after them. Someone donated a ton of money to the program, and in exchange they get to see their name associated with the OC position.
