  1. I checked out of this thread on like page 4, but I'll put in my two cents again.

I'm 15, and always bought child replicas as a kid (Redskins of course). All my jerseys became obsolete before this year because of Campbells trade and Portis becoming crappy/me getting taller. Those were adult replicas by the way... So I thought, why not pay twenty bucks more to get a much better jersey. I mean, it's MUCH better. I got an Orakpo Premier and LOVED it. I'm going to mow some lawns and babysit my neighbors kids this summer so I can buy myself a Jake Locker or (Drafted/Signed/Landry) Premier.

Get yourself an Atogwe! Or Sean Taylor... that's one that will be awesome forever.

Atogwe would be great, but I'd be hesitant. Maybe if he has another great turnover year, but I'd like to offense (Locker or Julio if we draft). With Taylor... I don't want to. After he died, I bought a custom jersey that said RIP and had 21. WORST. DECISION. OF. MY. LIFE. I never wanted to wear it after the 2007 season (I was 11...). And I haven't. I would never buy a Taylor jersey.

To each his own, I love rockin my Taylor jersey. I also got a Banks one too recently because I think he's so cool, I like gettin players that are kind of less popular. Another example, I had a Marko Mitchell one (obviously that one isn't so great now)

But yeah I can understand not wanting to rock the RIP 21 jersey. Kinda brings back stuff people don't wanna think about.

  3. Its a little too understated for my taste.

That surprises me. I guess I just figured you for the understated type. -Dan is into the bling. Who knew? :D

I am understated on everything in my life.

But when it comes to championship rings, I prefer bling to simple and understated.

is better than what the Giants got imo.

I agree bling all the way! Cause if I'm wearing it out and about I want this for a reaction

Agreed, which is why I think the rings the Lakers got for last season are schweeettttt.

  4. Johnny Damon:

Johnny Damon has now played for six teams. He's played more seasons for the Royals, than for anyone else. He played an equal number of years on each side of the Yankees/BoSox rivalry, winning a World Series with both. Which, pray tell, is the right uniform?

    the Red Sox.

    Given the facts I presented...why?

Even with your facts, who remembers him as a Royal? Nobody. I remember him most as a member of the Red Sox, and considering that's where he really put his name on the map, I think that's a pretty reasonable thought.

  5. Sadly, the Atlanta Braves are celebrating being the best 2nd-place team in the National League for the 2010 season. The pocket schedule mentions being the "2010 NL Wild Card Champions", and they've even hung a banner at Turner Field to commemorate the occasion:

The Braves should really be above this.

Agreed, I was mildly disappointed when I heard that news. I mean, it's good that they're recognizing it, but it just should've been a section in the yearbooks, the Wild Card isn't banner-worthy.

In a sport that is, for now, the most difficult to make the playoffs, I am OK with such a banner. Maybe it would make more sense for, say, the Brewers, who have very few appearances compared to ATL. But in MLB, where getting in is the key, I am OK with this.

What I cannot stand, however, is the phrase "Wild Card Champions." That is not a championship any more than "NBA Western Conference 7th Place Playoff Birth" is a championship.

Agreed, I would just say "Wild Card" or "Wild Card Winner"

  6. Washington Capitals

The Caps and Bullets have gotten new banners... everything is red, white and blue now...

Have they replaced the old white/blue/bronze 1999-00 and 2000-01 banners with red/white/blue or just added new red/white/blue banners for 2009-10?

Every banner now looks like the 2 Red one's in the picture I posted... The Bullets banners you can see in the background of that same picture have been changed also, each one now looks the same as the new Capitals one's but they are white instead of red. I couldn't find any pictures of the new Bullets banners.
