I think a no-brainer is for the league to get all 32 teams on board with throwbacks and have throwback games for all of the Thursday night games. Let teams pick a home and away throwback, and let them rotate them every 2 years (like how soccer does with home and road kits).

I don't want throwbacks for the sake of throwbacks. The league had the opportunity with that for the 100th season, and they failed to follow up on it.

  2. The part that says uniform schedule. https://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/160787-notebook-roleplaying-justin-fields-uniform-schedule-revealed-challenge/

If true, red throwbacks against the Rams and Chiefs.

They would wear the white throwbacks for the 4th consecutive year against the Seahawks. San Francisco likes to wear the white throwbacks against Seattle just like Seattle likes to wear the alternate wolf grey against Arizona.

They did the same thing last year against New England. I don’t understand the logic.

Ever since the navy became the alternate, they have worn navy in late October or early November. Since the royal blue became part of the rotation, it has been worn for a game in December most of the time, except for the Cardinals game in 2018 that happened in November.

I still see them breaking out green jerseys, maybe with navy pants, for week 15. We don’t have any other prime time games this year so it makes sense. Also I hope we don’t wear grey in Arizona again, I’m so tired of that matchup.

The last time they didn't was in 2017, when SEA wore the lime uniform, and they didn't have a choice because teams had to partake in the color rush program. The other times were 2012 and 2014. 2012 was Russell Wilson's first game. 2014 was the same year Seattle went to the Super Bowl in the NFC West rival Cardinals' home.

I was just wondering the other day why the Broncos never wore all orange against the Raiders and now they will.  It always seemed like something that would happen yet it never did.

I'm expecting the Raiders to wear their throwback jersey against the Chiefs in Week 5 for MNF. They've only worn it once for a day game and that was in 2020 against the Chargers in a dome. I assume they only wear it at night because of legibility issues with the numbers.

Last two years the silver number jersey was against the Chargers at Sofi.  The Raiders won't get to do that this year when they got them on their home opener.

They really had to choose the Texans again for the throwback game?

I would've preferred the Lions game in Week 10. They have worn navy vs. Detroit every year since 2011. Plus, this would have prevented an 8 week stretch of no navy jerseys, which is not something anyone would've expected from this franchise.

One interesting thing I noticed is that the full article includes the pant colors, and Week 18 vs. Minnesota will be all-navy.

I wanted the white throwbacks to be against Miami or Buffalo. The NFC East teams would've been a good choice too, since the Eagles and Commanders existed during the time these uniforms existed in the old days.

Texans get to see their navy blue at Chicago, Dallas, and maybe the Florida teams depending on what the Dolphins and Jaguars do.

That Giants Jets game looked way better than their last regular season meeting.

I was thinking about the NY matchup. I wish the Jets wore the gotham green jersey for the 2019 meeting. I think  the Giants white pants is better than the gray pants.

I'm glad there's 17 games now. There's chances for uniform matchups for cross conference games that we might get robbed of to be recovered. I'm hoping Green Bay and Baltimore finish in the same place. The AFC North will have the NFC North for the 9th home game next year. I want to see the Ravens in their purple jerseys, not the color rush jersey,  but the regular one, against the Packers.

  8. Colts announced their home game themes for 2022. They have the Commanders game as their ring of honor game. Last year the ring of honor game was against the Bucs. I think the throwback game will be against Washington. The game against the Chargers is listed as Blue Out. That's likely the monochrome blue game.

The AFC South division games are all listed with a Marvel promotion. They have drawings of people on the Colts as comic characters and the players, cheerleaders, and mascot are in white attire.

Watson's suspensions being  anything less than the entire season is BS. Another example of why the NFL is a joke.

Apparently all that gambling they advertise is so much worse than slapping your **** across a woman's face.

Players have also gotten worse for weed.

The NFL pretends to care about stuff when they don't.

It’s one thing if a few teams have alternate helmets.

It’s quite another when half the league does.

Half the league would be 16 out of 32 teams in the league. 13 teams have an alternate this year, need 3 more teams to make it half the league. Many of the helmets are new. But the Cowboys, Falcons, and Patriots aren't anything new.

  11. I didn't get Madden 22. The last Madden game I got was the one with Lamar Jackson on the cover. It was worth getting because of the 8 new uniforms in 2020, and because of the new stadiums Sofi and Allegiant. This year there's a lot of new additions regarding the uniforms, so that will be enticing to buy M23.

    Anyone getting the game?

Designation as home/away are not a consistent factor in today's NFL. The league doesn't classify a specific home and away look internally anymore in terms of uniforms. Uniforms are classified as color, white, alternate, throwback, and color rush.

What ever uniform the home team selects the visiting team must wear a contrasting opposite. Many teams opt to where lighter colors at home be they white or an alternate early in the season, and some opt to wear white at home almost exclusively. The only exception to this was during the mandatory color rush time frame when we saw color vs. color but those only happened if there was enough contrast.

That was true even before modern day, like going all the back to the 1960s.

No. It isn't better than our regular 'road' uniform and should never see the light of day again.

The regular white jersey and yellow pants combo is seen plenty of times. And the Packers' all white is one of the better all-whites in the league when it was around.
