He deserves a suspension. He doesnt deserve to be ran out the League. It's on his superiors' head. Banning him from the League is culture vulture stuff.

Having placed "winning hockey games" over addressing major felonious criminal behavior, and at minimum, being willing to allow his name to be placed on a recommendation that helped a sexual predator find other victims, he literally can never be trusted in a leadership position again.  He needs to go.

Yet another wrinkle in the STL saga has emerged; and now Kroenke is pissing off his fellow owners. This could get real ugly.

Thinking this is posturing to get Davis cut off (who reading between the lines from everything today probably is having his cash flow problems resurface) and to either force the Chargers out or into paying more than a nominal rent to the Rams for sharing Sofi.  Honestly, in light of this, I'd be annoyed too.  https://www.ksdk.com/article/sports/st-louis-trial-nfl-rams-owners-fined/63-68d4936f-fdf5-4573-afce-77b8fc88de1d

death penalty. how Liberty even got to FBS was a fraud in the first place, but they seem hellbent on proving the NCAA made a massive mistake. they 100% deserve to get SMU'd.

This is institutional, not athletics related per se.

Which is the real reason why they won't get offered a home at the FBS level because nobody wants to associate with this in non-athletic settings.

They tried to get in for all sports with the Sun Belt but there wasn't any interest from the conference. Non-football membership may not be a thing for C-USA if things are as cataclysmic as they seem, so NMSU might not have the ability to argue for full membership vs. football only.

Here's the thing, WAC may be FCS now, but there is no guarantee it wouldn't eventually be able to make the jump to FBS if the Texas adds are allowed to grow that way.  Current WAC is fine for Olympic sports, so they aren't just gonna bail.

But do they have the money to add even more scholarships and build up facilities? I know very little about this school. I don't even know how to pronounce Tarleton.

Largest TAMU campus not in College Station, plans to make massive physical investments in athletics.  Not a terrible add considering.

Tarleton State is a team just now transitioning to DI, CUSA trying to pull a team merely 6 months into a move up from DII is pretty comical. I saw another tweet that mentioned McNeese St as another potential FCS recruit which, again, is comical to me. There isn't an FCS school in Louisiana that is financially equipped to make the move to FBS.

Tarleton's already good enough to beat an FBS team.

I think they may have to throw out football only invites to UConn, UMass and New Mexico State to stay afloat (You need eight schools to stay at the FBS level)

NMSU would INSIST on being a full member; they've done the separate leagues in football and Olympic Sports dance and it didn't end well for them.

After watching yesterday’s shameful display, I think the Chiefs need to go in a bold new direction. Steve Spagnoulo needs to be fired and replaced with an orangutan. Half the plays will be better than what Spags calls and the other half involves flinging feces at the zebras. No matter how you slice it, it’s an improvement. Reject Spagsanity, return to monke.

Gonna go back in the archives, but I'm pretty sure I advocated replacing him with a repurposed Teddy Ruxpin doll on multiple occasions back during the Rams days.

Need I remind you all that a goddamn indoor soccer team outdrew the Kings by a factor of 2 in the early 80’s? Kansas City has the college basketball hall of fame now. Failing at selling basketball here is like failing at selling football in Texas. Mahomes wants an NBA team here and unlike Vegas, we actually have an economy that isn’t based on one industry so maybe Round 2 will work out.

We'll have to see how things shake out post-pandemic, but I was under the impression that the arena didn't want either basketball or hockey because they felt they would sponge up valuable dates that could go to lucrative concerts/events.

When they are done with trying to move the A's to Oakland, Las Vegas will make phone calls and write emails to Adam Silver about Las Vegas being the 32nd NBA team.  Also three prospective ownership groups, one of them being the Golden Knights are trying to get the MLS to come to Las Vegas.

Shades of Kansas City in the late 70s/early 80s.

As a reminder, that didn't end well for everyone; my money is that even if the As move to Vegas, they are going to be relocating again in a couple of decades at the latest.

I know University of Hawaii pays subsidies to the schools who travel to the island for football in the Mountain West and im guessing for basketball in the Big West. I guess thats not the case for olympic sports.

Big West nowadays (which is where Hawaii has basketball/Olympic sports) is all California schools aside from Hawaii.  That's about as good a travel situation as you can get in a league with Hawaii.

Why? Why is it necessary to "elevate" the Power 5? Why do we even need a Power 5 and Group of 5? Why not just FBS? Why is there this artificial division between the teams? Texas is equal to Rice in all the requirements to be an FBS program, so why push down on Rice and elevate Texas when they are equal? I never understood this stupid division between teams. To me, it's just a way for the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer. For someone reason the Power 5 schools love to punch down at everyone who is not them. Why not just make all of FBS equal? Why not allow all 10 conference an equal share of the pie? I do not understand why we treat 5 conferences like Gods and the other five like pitiable children.

Because this pretends Alabama, which has flippin' hotel fountains in the locker room, and New Mexico State, which, um, needs to install central air in its locker room in the middle of the desert, are on the same footing.
