  1. The NFL needs a team whose primary/home jersey is yellow.
  2. I always thought the trim on the Chicao Bulls red uniforms looked out of place Just seems like white is supposed to be simply an accent color on the uni given that the font/numbers are black with white trim. I always thought the trim pattern would look better if it were black-white-red-white-black instead of white-black-red-black-white.
  3. Maybe they should have considered calling it the American Athletic League (AAL).
  4. I'd like to see the Phillies bring back powder blue road uniforms. Just them. No other teams.
  5. So if the "new Big East" is supposed to be a basketball only conference with the Catholic 7 (plus potential newcomers). What happens to the other athletic programs at those schools that formerly participated in the old Big East? Will the Catholic 7 have to find new conference homes for all their other sports?
  6. I'd argue that Virginia Tech joining the ACC was a good move for them. They've been in the thick of the conference championship picture for most of their time in the ACC.
  7. So next fall WAC & Big East football are no more?
  8. Catholic 7 retain Big East name. Wonder what happens to the "other" Big East schools & the schools that were/are supposed to join the conference in the coming years?
  9. IMHO this was Maryland's best uniform set. Pity they only wore it one season. However they sorta had to since it was very similar to NC State's unis at the time.
  10. Pretty much every striped sock in the NFL is ruined by the mandatory white bottom half (Bears, Cheifs, Bills, Redskins, etc.) By the way, what is the reasoning behind the NFL sock rule? Why are teams required to have the white bottom portion? And I want an answer better than "it's always been that way". Honestly, I think solid color socks look way better than the white bottom socks.
  11. Looks like the Big East is going to die. I wouldn't be surprised if the Conference USA teams that are supposed to join find a way to back out. In hindsight Miami and Virginia Tech's exit back in 2003/04 was a critical hit to the stability of the Big East. Even with some good teams over the years (Pat White era WV, Brian Brohm era Louisville, etc) the conference as a whole seemed noticeably weakened.
  12. So basically they the "new" Mountain West Conference is the old MWC plus the WAC minus Utah, BYU, & Eventually Idaho?
  13. I'm ok with most team-colored shoes, but the Redskins' yellow shoes drive me crazy. When they played the Giants I kept mistaking them for penalty flags. My only gripe is that most teams secondary color is the dominant color of the shoes. I'd prefer for the Redskins shoes to be primarily burgundy with gold accents. Same with Seattle, Navy shoes with lime accents would look better than what they actually wear. I do however like San Fran's gold shoes.
  14. I hope Nike's team colored shoes become the norm in the NFL. Shoes are part of the uniform too, they might as well match everything else. Some teams pull of the team color shoes look pretty damn well. Black and white shoes stick out way too much against certain uniforms.
  15. For some reason I think the mega conference era will get out of control at some point. The result of that scenario would be interesting to watch play out.
  16. Can the schools that committed to join the Big East prior to the Catholic exodus bail without penalty?
  17. I'm not wild about modern football uniform designs. With that said, I'd like to see a team that has green as it's primary color unveil a set of unis that blend in with grass (and grass colored turf). Hell if they can make helmets that mimic leather (Redskins) they can make uniforms that mimic grass. That sure would get people to finally stop b*tching about Boise State lol
  18. Looks like Conference USA & the Mountain West will benefit from this. Wonder what happens to Cincinnati after the collapse becomes official?
  19. It'll be interesting to see which teams from today's "power conferences" may have to join a lesser conference.
  20. Powerful no, stable yes. I honestly think Cincy should/could/would consider the MAC if they somehow wind up being left outside the Mega Conference expansion. That would be dependent on a Big East collapse though.
  21. I doubt WF would do well as an Indy. Conference USA would probably be their best bet should the ACC & Big East totally collapse.
  22. Kinda ironic seeing how the ACC started the whole conference realignment mess back in 2003.SN: I miss the old Big East. Those last few years games involving any combination of Miami, Virginia Tech, & West Virginia were fun to watch.
  23. So what happens to Maryland's Lacrosse programs? That's arguably the number 3 sport at the school.
  24. TImes like this I was FCS, D2, & D3 games came on TV more often. Clearly the tope level of college football has gone full on corrupt. Sadly, I'll likely still watch the new era of FBS football.
  25. ^^^^^^ Meh, I thought Maryland looked better using that template
