  1. IIRC the UFL had StubHub sponsor logos on the helmet bumpers.
  2. The pitch at Audi Field was noticeably worse after the Premier Lacrosse League came to DC. Granted, a heavy rainstorm hit the area at the same time. The grass had to be replaced before the season ended.
  3. A lot DCU fans raised hell about the XFL team when it was announced that they'd be playing at Audi Field. Hell, when the Premier Lacrosse League's tour came to DC last year, they raised hell about the damage those games did to the grass. There's a big portion of the fanbase that doesn't want anything besides soccer being played at Audi Field. On the other side, club's ownership really likes money. At one point before Audi Field opened DCU's website flat out said other sports would be played at the stadium, so it really shouldn't be a surprise when it happens.
  4. *bump for additions and some edits to previous categories* Premier Lacrosse League: Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club (in the PLL's first season their roster was predominantly Maryland alums) NBA G League: Capital City Go-Go
  5. Really? I'm the kind of the opposite. Seattle's dragon looks more far east Asian to me.
  6. It also has a horn versus what appears to be an ear on UAB's dragon.
  7. I'd say Seattle's logo was definitely inspired by UAB's. At the end of the day there's only so many things you can do with a dragon logo that haven't already been done. It's hard to top what Mortal Kombat and UAB have done for the category.
  8. My thoughts. Houston: Not a fan of their branding. There's not much more you can do with an oil derrick logo that hasn't already been done. Don't like the forced H. With a name like Roughnecks, you'd think the emphasis would be an oil worker instead of the derrick. Dallas: Not wild about the name Renegades. The logo reminds me of the a ninja character from a 16 bit graphics era video game. LA: I actually like "generic names" in sports like wildcats, hawks and bulldogs. With that said their primary logo should have been a cat. The "LA" logo is alright. Seattle: I actually like their logo despite it's similarities to UAB's. Perhaps I'm the only that sees the two logos as two different types of creatures. When I see UAB's dragon, I think of something I might stalk me in a medieval forest, or maybe even a dungeon. Seattle's looks like something that you encounter at sea. New York: I see a lion, not a gargoyle. It's a good logo. I see this being the logo from XFL 2.0 that ends up being highjacked by high school, youth and semi-pro teams the way the Hitmen's H logo has been from the first run. Tampa: Like the name. Understand why the main logo is just a letter instead of a snake. With two teams in this league named after serpentine creatures, it may have been done to avoid any confusion (may also be the case why LA has no cat logo, with NY's logo resembling a lion). Interested in seeing this teams uniforms the most given the logo colors. DC: Not wild about the name. If DC doesn't have the best defense in this league, that name will come back to bite them. The logo makes me think Indy punk band more than it does football or military. St Louis: Not feeling the name. The logo gives off a slight religious vibe to me. Something about a sword with wings says crusades to me.
  9. I don't think they can after having that 40K seat stadium built solely for their ascent to Division 1A/FBS football.
  10. Arena League already did the superhero themed team in LA thing
  11. As someone that hates high scoring offensive shootouts in regular football where the defenses are non-factors, my biggest gripe against arena/indoor football is how easy it is to score and the basketball like final scores you see regularly. I would love to see your idea become a reality.
  12. Officially when he greenlit The Gobbledygooker
  13. I guess it's okay for a one time thing. However I've always had an issue with an Orioles affiliate having Sox in it's team name. Even the Bay part of the team's name has always been difficult for me to accept. Bowie, Maryland is landlocked. It does not border the Chesapeake Bay. In fact there's an entire county (Anne Arundel County) between Bowie (in Prince George's County) and the bay. I do think Baysharks would be a cool name for a team actually located closer to a bay than Bowie is though.
  14. BMW and Volkswagen's logos look like they could belong to a European soccer club. Mercedes' logo sorta looks like a logo for a military academy's athletic teams
  15. Homer alert. Deal with it! NFL: Washington Redskins NBA: Washington Wizards MLB: Washington Nationals NHL: Washington Capitals MLS: D.C. United Overseas Soccer: Western Sydney Wonderers (A-League). Copa90 videos about this club won me over P5 NCAA Football: University of Maryland and members of the pre conference realignment ACC and Big East. Except for Miami and West Virginia. Mid Major NCAA Football: Marshall, Temple & Cincinnati NCAA FCS Football: All members of the MEAC, Towson, Georgetown & Penn NCAA D1 Basketball: Maryland and Georgetown NCAA Division 2 Sports: All members of the CIAA, Shepherd University, University of the District of Columbia & Frostburg State University NCAA Division 3 Sports: Salisbury University, Catholic University, Gallaudet University and Johns Hopkins University Junior College: Prince George's Community College Minor League Baseball: Bowie Baysox, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs & the Nationals' entire farm system WNBA: Washington Mystics Major League Lacrosse: Chesapeake Bayhawks
  16. I'd argue that the shade of blue the Carolina Panthers wear is neon-ish
  17. I'd be okay with sponsor logos in the NFL ONLY if it were limited to helmet bumpers. They did that in the short lived UFL and it was visually tolerable.
  18. I don't like the Vikings sleeves stripes or the ship sail first digit font. I honestly think they'd look a lot better if their sleeve stripe was the same pattern as the pants stripes, and if they only used the second digit number font.... They also need a pair of white socks... and switching to white facemasks wouldn't hurt.
  19. I'm surprised Savannah State has remained in Division 1 for as long as they have.
  20. May even need to consider inviting West Georgia up from Division 2.
  21. I still think the ACC should've given West Virginia an invite after Pitt and Syracuse came in. So many long time rivals were already there waiting. Adding one "dumb school" to the conference wouldn't have hurt lol
  22. Hope nobody's posted these two yet. From California, Humboldt State & Azusa Pacific.
