The ultimate “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” of 90s-early 2000s soft drink branding

ULM’s uniforms from the neck down are exactly how the Commanders should look.

Oregon’s “duck” uniform was their best overall uniform-

Makes sense I guess. The company said they’d start putting the drink in clear bottles “for environmental reasons” when in reality all it’s for is so you don’t notice the bottles in trash heaps and landfills

Not everything is some unsubstantiated conspiracy theory. Asking out of respect ≠ “punk kid”

It's all theatrics to create a narrative of some tradition or lineage for these storied franchises. Sportswriters and fans eat that sh-it up...

It was never Theismann's call to make regarding Haskins wearing #7. The team makes that decision, not the former players. The only reason new players "ask" alumni players for "permission" to wear the number they made famous is purely a PR move. It looks better that way to some people.
Being respectful surely is such a PR move

To go along with this, Theisman was in a no win situation when Haskins asked him for his number. It’s either say no and get tore apart for saying it’s his number, or give up his number for the punk kid who had no right to ask in the first place.
Haskins had every right to ask for the number. It’s not retired and he really didn’t have to try to get it, either. It was a simple request for use of a number. Nothing more. He wasn’t being a “punk kid” by any measure.- 8

the team could have just shot the whole nonsense down and said no pick another number...it's more likely that jt was pressured to relent doing so snyder could further boost up the local hotshot draft pick by unretiring one of their most popular player's numbers.
I’m not defending Snyder in any way, but good grief. Not everything is a product of him being the absolute worst pro sports owner.
Also, FWIW, Theismanns’s number isn’t retired. Anyone could theoretically wear it, but again, it’s up to the player and franchise’s discretion what happens to the numbers. “Punk kids” literally have no say in the process.

There will never be another Number 9*
*You know, until some punk kid decides he wants to unretire it.
Gonna be devil’s advocate here and say that’s it’s not really the “punk kid”’s decision to unretire a number. They’re just requesting to wear the number and it’s ultimately up to the retired player and franchise they played for to decide whether or not a young player can wear it.
The most popular example, Joe Theismann didn’t have to let Dwayne Haskins wear 7, but he said yes anyway stating “I've given him permission. Not that I feel like I needed to, but he was respectful enough to ask… He doesn't need to worry about, 'Well, I wish I could've worn a different jersey. I wish I could've worn a number.'“

I’m curious to know everyone’s thoughts on the Kyle Busch situation regarding his future after this season. Supposedly JGR has yet to open discussion about a return in ‘23 and there’s buzz that Busch wants to leave Toyota altogether. Many believe Kaulig Racing (Chevrolet) will want his services as both driver and co-owner. Reports are that Kaulig wants to get into the Truck Series, which is where Busch already has a successful team.
I like this scenario the most. Kaulig Racing is gaining a lot of steam and is a great second tier cup team along with Trackhouse. Adding a driver like Busch would do wonders.

Washington is finally retiring Sonny Jurgensen’s 9. Ceremony will take place in Week 18 vs Cowboys.

Revert back to the prior uniforms (with the new helmet, but keeping the “COMMANDERS” and “WASHINGTON” aspects of the burgundy and white jerseys sounds like a win

Truthfully, the white over burgundy pants and socks wasn’t a half bad combo for Washington

I don’t know, I think I prefer the Cowboys to be a navy blue and white team with silver being a tertiary color.

I'm surprised I don't hate those black helmets. They help to tie together the black piping of the uniform.
We all know they should just revert to the Tillman-era uniforms. But if they're going to commit to looking silly, those black helmets aren't the silliest part of their uniform.
I’ll echo this. It amazes me that the black helmet is ironically 1 of 2 things right with the uniform set. The other thing being the standard white helmet.

Not an issue, but I like the added “[insert username] is here” feature

I still don’t understand why they felt the need to have a random person dress up in full uniform when it’s clearly not the normal player who wears 24. Was Darrel Williams just simply not available for the photo shoot? I suppose I’m just reading into it too much.
