Agreed. Games just feel bigger when they’re on TNT, and their color commentators also tank the broadcast team. Most of that spectacle comes from Inside the NBA too, which is a show I love dearly but is better the less it talks about basketball. For ESPN, Breen/Jeff/Mark were amusing, but Breen was the only one capable of rising to the moment. I don’t see Doris/Doc doing anything to fix that. Like this past NBA Finals felt especially mailed in. NBATV actually did a far better job with pre and postgame coverage than the flagship network.

Not mad at this look at all for Purdue, even if I do think their ideal set is something train-themed. The double outline isn’t great, but doesn’t tank the look either imo. I actually think the modern template makes it look better than the original.

At this point we either end up with A. Super-large 24+ team conferences that have divisions that vaguely resemble the old conferences we know and love B. A super-league of 24 teams with everybody else being in lower conferences that vaguely resemble the ones we know and love I don’t know when we end up with those, but all these years in between are going to suck.

I don’t love a maker’s mark being in the middle but having the Adidas logo front and center would look way better. That shoulder is super cluttered with the Adidas logo, patch and numbers.

Oddly enough Texas Tech’s Falcons ripoff throwbacks are my favorite look of theirs, even with the emphasis on black and gray over red. I guess having Raiders in the name helps balance it out.

^^^^ Exactly I even like Syracuse’s all-orange combo because of that. My solution is Syracuse wears as much orange as possible, and Illinois goes back to the Red Grange stripe unis, maybe even with blue numbers on the road.
