  1. My ideas for RR's for next year:

ANA: Jade version of the classics or a White variation of the black script alternates.

ARZ: I guess we could see the 08-14 alternate changed up maybe? Not much left to do.

BOS: The claim is that they're using a Bear. Maybe a modern take on the 24-25 jersey in black?

BUF: Has to be Red Goathead.

CAL: All for the pedestals coming back in some variation

CAR: Grey version of the 08-17 alternates please, but with the updated flag.

CHI: The 34-35 jersey in white maybe?
COL: Love the idea of doing the unused Nords set for a RR, but I'd use the template and then do the "Colorado" script on it.

CBJ: It's either doing a variant on the black stripe alts or using the unused jerseys from the inaugural set as inspiration. Maybe a white version of the Cannon?

DAL: Break out the inaugurals in your current colours. Done.

DET: Any of the Cougar jerseys in Red. Take your pick.

EDM: White McFarlane's are going to look great.

FLA: Go zany..... and do a Yellow rendition of your last RR's based off the yellow starter fashion jersey. Doing a red rendition is a cop-out.

LAK: 98-99 without purple maybe? Probably a white version of this?

MIN: You did North Stars last time. Give us a Red version of the Gaborik era set this time.

MON: Red or Blue version of the 36-38 jersey makes sense.

NAS: Navy version of the mustard alts?

NJD: Black version of the Cup era set.

    NYI: Teal/Orange Fishsticks.

NYR: Red versions of the controversial Ferguson era set.

OTT: White version of the 00-07 alts or home jersey.

PHI: Orange version of the 08-10 set?

PIT: Baby blue version of the current Home/Road.

STL: Trumpet in modern day would look nice, but so would the 92-94 set if they wanted to go the more subtle route.

SJS: Inaugurals in black or the 01-07 alternate in white would be fun.

    SEA: Metropolitans inspired, right?

TBL: I assume we'll see a Black version of the BOLTS jersey.

TOR: The 22-25 St. Pats in Green.

VAN: 85-89 in Blue, Green & White sounds fun.

VGK: Some people are saying to go Wranglers inspired. I say just take the current RR and do a white version.

WAS: Maybe the classic in blue or in the black, blue & gold?

WPG: The WHA classic 72-73 set in today's colours.

I was playing NBA 2K22 and noticed they added the Rising Stars uniforms and they are WAY better than the All-Star uniforms.  There are actually 4 different uniforms, I picked the ones that matched Cleveland for this picture. The other uniforms were Navy and Teal. No idea what they will actually wear in the game.

All 4 will be worn. They changed up the Rising Stars game format this season.

  3. Great work here overall, got a unique idea for the Milwaukee team name.... instead of having it be Hornets or Bees, if you care to get distinctive, why not focus on a TYPE of bee common in Wisconsin.... the Milwaukee/Wisconsin/Kenosha Leafcutters (after leafcutter bees)?

It leans on the edge of being too niche, like most Brandoise names, but I feel it's a fun name to say.

I'll never for the life of me understand why people should give two spits about the legal wording the NFL put in place when the Browns weren't around for a few years. Why does anyone care this much?

Focus people! The real question is which franchise got custody of the Browns' gray facemasks.  Try to remember what's important.

The Browns look better with a white facemask anyways.

I hope more stuff either leaks or this is all a diversion and we get a good name after all.

This would only really be an unpopular opnion around here. But I don't think that every single team in each league needs to have a completely unique color scheme. I think it's fine that the Oilers and the Islanders used to have similar color schemes. Or the Penguins and Bruins. Or all the navy/red teams in baseball (although I hate the color navy in sports branding, but that's a whole different topic). If two teams look right a certain way, there's no reason for one to change just so that they're different.

I agree with this, however, I do prefer when clubs have distinct shades of certain colours if they share colour schemes. There's no reason for the Lightning to use the same shade of blue as the Leafs, for example. Why couldn't they go back to the brighter blue of yesteryear?

  6. That Perds jersey.... what a mess.

    1. Smashville on the front, but broken up into two words stacked on top of one another, and the lettering doesn't even fit into the chest stripe. Had they outlined the letters, they'd look better.

    2. The font choice feels weird and doesn't fit them at all.

    3. Why the guitar pick logo in the middle of said letters? And also, rotate the stars in said logo so they match the Tennesee flag, please.

    4. The white numbers that stick out like a sore thumb.

  7. So, the Royals changes:

    1. The new road is fine. Not a huge fan of block lettering for them, but other than that, this jersey is really nice. Same goes for the road alternate,  which I think showcases the block script a lot better.

    2. The new home alternate though? Either go all in with the light blue and do light blue pants too, or scrap this jersey altogether. I hate that it doesn't contain any "royal" anymore, and if anything, this is the alternate that should've had the block script if they had done the light blue  pants (basically bringing these back full time but tweaking them so they work as a button up). Instead, we get a jersey that's nice on it's own, but is lackluster when you see it in full.

  8. I feel like this jersey for New Jersey is trying too hard.

The script isn't bad for merch, but doesn't work for a jersey at all. The shadows on the numbers and script being the logn bit of red doesn't work either. It's a poor attempt at a fauxback to a team that nobody cares about, and it looks too similar to jerseys other team have worn rather recently.

All they had to do if they wanted a black jersey was take the RR and make it black. That's it.

  9. Also, some actual thoughts on each set of these:

Atlanta: Love the yellow, love the return of the bird (it's cheesy but in the best way possible), and if they had chosen to go with the Pistol font for the wordmark & numbers, it's a grand slam. Instead, the ball stays in the park for a two-run double with not one but TWO mismatching number fonts! You didn't need to do that.

Bucks: I want to like these more than I do. Honestly, don't hate there being 0 red on these, and wish they'd stuck with using purple alongside the Irish greens.... dropping the Blue & Cream entirely... along with making the collar & shoulder elements fit more cohesively with this design.

Brooklyn: Winner. Would've used a tweaked version of the 80's logo showcasing Brooklyn with these & just that logo, but this is how you blend eras. Would love to see a matching white & then these as the full-time set. I think you could even do a "Brooklyn" script in the Nets script style & have it work.

Boston: I feel like I'd like these more if there wasn't any grey on the shorts. Other than that, they're fine.

Cavs: Honestly, using that number font with the trim they chose was smart. Blowing up a terrible logo instead of using a proper wordmark was not. Do like the shorts though.

Detroit: I love these. The blue & teal works. The lightning stripes on the shorts works. The return of a red jersey is great. I just hope the teal stands out when on camera & doesn't blend in too much with the blue.

Dallas: Y I K E S. This.... is how not to do a mash of eras. Every part of this feels like they were looking to embrace the worst aspect of every Mavs jersey worn & chuck it on this bad boy.... only thing missing is the sheeny fabric of the garbage jersey unis.

Pacers: Once again, terrific. I've liked every single Pacer city jersey, each one being a better look for the club than their current Home & Away. Yes, even the checkerboard sets.

OKC: Ugh. So, you actually do a decent job of incorparating elements of past jerseys, only to muck up the whole design by going white & grey?

Kings: Why "Sactown"? The corny nickname thing doesn't work for you, Kings. Stop it. Otherwise, a little bland, but a fun nod to the Webber era.

Warriors: I feel like a wordmark above the logo is needed, preferrably a new verion of the old "The City" wordmarks. Besides that, solid.

Spurs: I liked last years Fiesta set. Seeing them do it again but with white.... it's almost too bright & comes off as garish. I feel like seeing them in action might help, but we'll see.

Raps: Just okay. Do like the move to use the "We The North" font for the numbers, a unique touch. If they had to have gone Black & Gold again though, I'd have preferred a Huskies inspired jersey personally, as I think that would've looked great.

Denver: I like these, but I've liked all the Nuggets City offerings. Wish the rainbow jerseys of both of those sets were the full-time Home & Away. Do like them embracing the ABA stuff though.

Magic: Everyone has said it. Just do this in your normal colours. Stop trying to make Orange happen. It's not working.

Miami: Why? These are terrible. You have some nice jerseys to draw ideas from & THIS is what you give us?

NOLA: Overall, okay. Bland, but evokes the early CP3 days for me. Would've been a great time to update the old trumpet logo to use as a tertiary as I like the Crescent City logo.

Sixers: If you don't know the story behind these, you're gonna be baffled & confused. With context, these move up into the top tier as a out of the box way to honour your history. That court looks splendid too.

Rockets: I don't get why, but I like these. The shorts shouldn't work & yet they do. The wordmark looks good, the "nearly pinstripes" pop without a giant rocket on the front & these feel like a passing of the torch for a fun dynamic guard in Steve Francis to Jalen Green.

Clipps: Feel like a weaker version of the CP3 light blue & previous light blue City jersey. Not bad, but would've preferred them going in a different direction (Maybe Elton Brand inspired?)

Wiz: This is nice. Not bad, not great. Just nice.

Grizz: This feels like a better version of their current Home jersey, but given the warm-ups use Teal, I'd have liked to see it on the jersey too.

Hornets: Busy, but I get it. The gradient effect is going to look horrid on TV, that wordmark feels so out of place & I'd like to have seen more Bobcats.

Lakers: Meh. Purple & Light Blue is unique, but the shorts feel.... off? I have to see these on a person before making a final call.

Knicks: If you're gonna embrace black, this is a great way to do it. Do wish the NYK token logo was featured, but these are clean.

Minny: I feel like something gets lost when you drop black from this set, but it is nice look still.

Blazers: Once again, just okay. I liked last years set much more, these feel almost stagnant.

Bulls: I agree with what some are saying about the number placement, but other that, home run.

Utah & Phoenix: You guys suck. This could've been a great way to get really creative & have something fun, but instead you go "Nah". That Suns leak was horrid, but at least it was SOMETHING NEW. And Utah..... plethora of looks to choose from for something that everyone could get behind.

  10. Got a two-fer:

    1. Not sure how unpopular this one is, but Vegas's Reverse Retro really should be their full time alternate and I'm sad to see it going by the waste side after a season.

    2. The Islanders Reverse Retro continues to prove that they look better in Navy in contrast to the Oilers looking sharper in Royal Blue.

  11. The Jazz should do one of three things, and neither of them is changing to Black & White.

    1. Lightening the shade of green currently used in the Navy set the currently have so it stands out more, along with dropping the yellow alternate entirely.

    2. Making the change back to purple.

    3. New set based on the Stockton/Malone 90's colours.

  12. Not sure if anyone here knows anything about this, but I noticed that in the NHL 22 teaser reel, the Islanders were presented with Barzal sporting the Navy Reverse Retro jersey. Is that just EA being EA, or could this be a leak that they're returning to Navy full-time?
