  1. The more I see from the MLS and Apple TV deal the more I want that for the Pac-12. MLS still gets some regular season games on Fox plus the playoffs and they get their own tab on the Apple TV app, each team has it's own page and content, the studios look amazing, plus the great visual quality of the broadcast we saw last year with MLB. All the Pac-12 sports in one easy to get app instead of the then hassle of cable, count me in.
  2. Would of been a nightmare to attend (parking lot is a golf course) if played and I doubt many would of shown up anyway due to all the rain, definitely would not be a record breaking attendance like what they planned. Good call by MLS/LA teams
  3. If you're passing someone on the street wearing Minnesota stuff do you tell them "SKI-U-MAH!" or "Go Gophers!"? I guess Texas would be "Hook 'Em!", missed that one. I'm gonna count 'Woo Pig!" basically as "Go {team nickname}!" though.
  4. While most people do say "I'm a {college name} fan", I can only think of two schools (Roll Tide and War Eagle) that don't say "Go {team nickname}!" as their main cheer/slogan/whateveritscalled
  5. I'd go 40 teams with 20 team eastern and western conferences that don't play each other until the MLS Cup Final, aside from CCL, US Open Cup, and the new Leagues Cup.
  6. Not sure what the latest on the San Diego Sports Arena site is but that also was floated around before as a potential spot for a soccer stadium. I don't see where they would put one downtown, unless the Padres want to give up their last parking lot.
  7. Probably better than being a secondary tenant in a baseball stadium for over 10 years. Or having a temporary erector set stadium with no end of that in sight. Or an NFL stadium that you can't come close to filling. Or having a soccer specific stadium but being so far outside of the city center that no one bothers to go to games. There's definitely worse MLS stadium situations out there.
  8. Unpopular opinion on here I think but the Diamondbacks look way better with no teal. And their A logo is one of the most underrated in the league.
  9. I don't think desperate is the right word, maintaining a presence in the most populated region on the West Coast is just an absolute necessity. That being said if SDSU was UCSD they would be in the Pac-12 already. It was always a Cal and UCLA didn't want a CSU in their conference issue for SDSU. Los Angeles and San Diego are two different places just in the same region, USC and UCLA already accounting for the San Diego market was always just an excuse. I view adding SMU as the more desperate move. Is a small private school with limited football success located in a very crowded CFB market really going to "capture the Dallas market and open up Texas recruiting pipelines" for the Pac-12? Nope, but hey they have rich alumni! I doubt people in Dallas will even care that Pac-12 teams are playing in their city and why would they. Here's the Pac-12's options based on football success, research status, and market size. Football Success (Past 10 Years) R1 Research Desirable Market Boise State (3 MW Titles, Six 10 Seasons, 1 NY6 Win) Colorado State San Diego State (3.3 Million) Fresno State (3 MW Titles, Five 10 Win Seasons) New Mexico SMU (7.7 Million) San Diego State (2 MW Titles, Five 10 Win Seasons) Nevada UNLV (2.2 Million) SMU (One 10 Win Season) UNLV Utah State (1 MW Title, Three 10 Win Seasons) Utah State If the Pac-12 is going off football success then you're absolutely right, Boise State is in along with Fresno State or San Diego State. Or add all three plus one more that's probably based on market, so either UNLV or SMU. This probably should happen. If they're going strictly off R1 research status then UNLV, Utah State, and Colorado State are probably the top 3. They could continue with the travel partner thing they already have established and add Utah State to pair with Utah and Colorado State to pair with Colorado but that adds no new markets. So UNLV would probably be in for sure here plus one more off that list. No way this would happen. Or they go based on market size which SDSU and SMU are the obvious winners here, or they decide against SMU since it isn't in the West and go with UNLV. This is what's going to happen. Honestly, no one will be happy because every option kind of sucks. It all feels lackluster and definitely not Power 5, kind of like the new Big 12 but they had some better options. The only way to get the best of all worlds and make everyone in the Pac-12 happy would be if UC Davis and UC San Diego (or even UC Irvine ) somehow had near Power 5 level football teams/athletics and large fanbases. Both bring very high level academics in large metro areas (Sacramento 2.3 Million for Davis). But that's not reality.
  10. I think this is the best Adidas has done in quite a long time.
  11. Yeah lol I know. Not really hyped on SMU but I understand it. I'm happy with SDSU though, they're already an affiliate member in mens soccer and will also be fun additions for basketball and baseball.
  12. It'd be amazing if Apple dropped a SEC or B1G type bag for the Pac-12 just to save west coast college football. Who cares if no one besides the west coast watches, that's how it already is anyways.
  13. Notre Dame already uses Soldier Field for the Shamrock Series (2012 and 2021). Northwestern though plays games occasionally at Wrigley (2010, 2021, and 2023) and will also need a temporary home when they tear down Ryan Field and build a new stadium on the same site.
  14. Fresno State with what looks like a new home uniform, although it could maybe be some type of alternate I guess. It's the quite the departure from the typical home uniform which has basically been unchanged since the Dogs won the CWS in 2008, aside from wordmark/font changes when they switched to Adidas in 2020.
  15. No one seems to like the Red Bull or Austin kits... Meanwhile, I think they're two of the best unveiled so far
  16. They couldn't get the green on the back to match the green on the front?
  17. Looks great, love the simplicity. Could maybe add some yellow on the maroon jersey, I don't think the pinstripes need it though.
  18. All these hats suck. It's weird to me that Japan, Korea, China, and Taiwan are in English letters.
  19. I wouldn't care about these ads at all if they weren't so damn big
  20. I love this, it might be the best kit Red Bull has ever had.
  21. USC vs UCLA never disappoints uniform wise, even in basketball.
