Something to maybe keep an eye out on, as this past weekend Syracuse women's lacrosse head coach Kayla Treanor was wearing this
and today with Carmelo Anthony's retirement announcement came this

REFERENDUM NIGHT IN TEMPE, BABY

So this came out of left field with all the NFL TV news... Peacock's getting an exclusive wild card game
-
After Virginia and Notre Dame got some ho hum wins, things really went off the rails in the evening slate. Yale-Georgetown was absolutely hammered drunk with the defense and goaltending on both sides being non-existent as the Hoyas survive and advance, and then Army pulls off a huge upset over Maryland in the nightcap despite turning the ball over left and right. This bracket was set up for carnage, but was not expecting the Terps to be first round victims given how they usually avoid all that under Tillman.

I feel like this set is... just there. I'm not a fan of this new trend of mismatching homes and aways and the large ARIZONA on the homes that aren't present on the others sticks out like a sore thumb. Otherwise nothing that egregious but also nothing to write home about. The helmet application might be interesting, though, so I'll hold out for that come game action.

CBA looks like a positive, just that the only issue is the PhD degree you needed to understand the exemptions now needs a doctorate to go along with it
-
See, here's the only issue when we go full chaos mode in the NCAA Tournament: UConn screws everything up and goes on a bull:censored: title run. It happened in 2011 and 2014 and everything looks like it's gonna happen again now

New York's an interesting case cause you have Knick fans that feel Breen's that way for them on MSG and Net fans with Eagle on YES.... but both of them are much more known for their national TV work
-
ESPN's used the player tracker quite a bit on power plays this season. Guess it's related to the player tracking and the RSNs have a hold of the info too

I wouldn't hate Atlanta getting one more shot, but definitely would put Quebec City ahead of them as getting first dibs at anything. And even then I'd try Houston/Austin for a Sun Belt option first. But yeah, bring back the Nordiques and figure out the Coyotes situation first before doing anything else.
That being said the chatter over going to 34 already after just neatly getting to 32 has been a bit odd.
Also I guess just your periodic reminder that Hartford still hasn't fixed a situation that caused the Whalers to move out in the first place- the Hartford Civic Center is the same Hartford Civic Center that they left 25 years ago. Not that anyone here's argued for it, but figured to drop that in cause it got brought up. Plus I think we've discussed quite a few times in the *checks notes* 446 pages how Boston and New York have absorbed Connecticut anyway. Great for nostalgia, but outside of continuing to grow UConn's hockey programs (plus Yale and Quinnipiac staying in the national mix) and keeping the AHL presence in the state that train's left the station

What is the public opinion on the ground in Tempe anyway? I can't find any recent polls and the HFBoards thread is just the *checks notes* 144th thread of the same Coyotes defenders jumping in everywhere without any actual insights

9 hours ago, BBTV said:
What if the power 5 created and sold a “Saturday red zone” package? That would print ,money, no?
All the different television contracts for the conferences prevent that, and NCAA v. Board of Regents might prevent that too though I guess it being up to the conferences would get around that

Fox really going for grabbing everyone from their glory days of the 00s huh? So yeah, now JEETS on the MLB crew, Brady we've covered extensively, and last week the worst kept secret of the past 6 years or so finally got officially out with Kevin Harvick being added to the NASCAR booth starting next season after his retirement

My alma mater is the Blue Dragons, but we mainly used a block varsity D for all sports. The baseball team's jerseys usually mimic the Dodgers and we had a Tigers style D for much of the time I was in school. The lacrosse and soccer teams had a logo that had Drexel's dragon in a shield, but I think that was more from the supplier we got it from than it actually making it onto any other school branding.
Now the school I teach at is completely eccentric in copycats. We're the Tigers with colors in yellow and black and sometimes purple, and primarily there's a lot of merchandise using, of all teams, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' standalone head. Also have seen some use of various logos like Missouri, Princeton, Clemson, and LSU.

ESPN's college lacrosse scorebug looks like it'll match the PLL scorebug this season

Thanks @Kramerica Industriesfor running this as always, and congrats to @rams80for the championship win!
I picked the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl preseason and rode with them the whole playoff run for that, but for the sake of not getting a laugh/cry emoji notification on February 13th, and also because of each team's performances through the playoffs

Probably get more confirmation next week with the Rolex 24 but.... NBC might actually be transferring the SNF package to motorsports?
EDIT nvm that might've been a series created graphic because Rolex 24 qualifying has the usual graphics

The Flyers could definitely use going back to the darker shade of orange from the 80's and 90s, but if it ain't the 70's look, and it ain't the 80's and 90's look, then I have no idea what direction you can go in without it not looking like a Flyers jersey

I would've gone with Lumen Field for a Seattle Winter Classic venue, but T-Mobile Park would be more intimate which is probably the decision the NHL went with. Either way that should be a fun change of pace.
And to echo the above conversation, I know I saw some Jackets fans upset they were passed by another two franchises getting in the outdoor game train again (I'll technically not count the Lake Tahoe games for Vegas), but I have a feeling that's way more Ohio State getting in the way than anything else. I know the Jackets have only had a year or two of being in the national discussion, but they seem like a ripe place to have at least a Stadium Series with Ohio Stadium. But knowing the whole Value City Arena-Nationwide Arena wars through the years I can easily see that Buckeye roadblock.
