Fun fact: The ACC has won more football national championships since 2013 (3) than the Big Ten has since 1971 (2.5). I’d actually be really interested in a documentary or long form on the mythology of the Big Ten / how they’ve leveraged what’s mostly the Ohio State brand into this power position.
I usually break this out by the time the B1G's 0-for-Elite 8 but after last night with TCU it felt fitting
But seriously, B1G has had 1 football national title since the 2nd term of the GWB administration, 0 men's basketball titles since the Clinton administration ended, 0 women's basketball titles this millennium, 1 softball championship, 1 College World Series appearance since the 80s, and completely dismantled NCAA Men's Hockey just to come up with 0 national champions while the conferences they broke apart have racked up 5 since then. Outside of them starting their lacrosse conferences which helped bring in a lot of spending not only from the non-Maryland B1G schools but also across the board in the sport, I don't wanna hear anything else about the B1G despite them making a ton of money until they actually do something.

I know we were all excited for the potential of a Argentina-Brazil semifinal, but man, Argentina-Croatia could have all the makings of a :censored:housery war on Tuesday. That could be some real entertaining, physical, hot-tempered soccer between those two

This is the schedule the rest of the way:
- Sunday, Dec. 11 (Week 14) – Dolphins at Chargers
- Sunday, Dec. 18 (Week 15) – Patriots at Raiders
- Sunday, Dec. 25 (Week 16) – Buccaneers at Cardinals
- Sunday, Jan. 1 (Week 17) – Rams at Chargers
- Sunday, Jan. 8 (Week 18) – Matchup TBD
Good options for week 18 include: Cowboys at Commanders, Jets and Dolphins, Giants at Eagles, and Ravens at Bengals.
Of the remaining scheduled games, Rams/Chargers is probably another flex, too. Dolphins/Pats seems like the only game that week worth flexing. Maybe Cleveland/Washington too.
We did get some Week 15 flexing, which includes the Saturday slate that's always TBD before the season getting cemented
I would've had Dolphins-Bills on SNF and Giants-Commandos on Saturday but, you know, GREATEST. DIVISION. IN SPORTS.

I have absolutely no idea why, but watching that Avalanche game with the reverse retros the other night gave a Thrashers feel to it. Maybe it was because of seeing blue/red/yellow together combined with the Avs number font sort of looking like the Thrashers' number font

, really? My eyes must've gotten crossed reading it on Google the other day. My bad.
Looking at it, that's exactly what happened. The Saints are playing the Niners with the Rams playing the Chiefs, and I must've just gone from Saints directly to Chiefs and skipped over the other two. Thanks for pointing this out.

One other note on the NBA on ESPN, I noticed this week the animated logos at various points and I think that's been the coolest part of the new package. Found a video with all 30 teams' animations

Weird. I had a lot of trouble the first week (but it seems like that was normal for that week) but, while I haven't watched too much each week, haven't had any other issues till tonight. Knock on wood, seems to be stable now, but had to restart 6 times. I think I'm watching on a 5 minute delay now, which might also be helping with buffering.
EDIT: Guess I didn't knock on enough wood. This is awful.
It's odd because Week 2 everything was crystal clear for me, then every week from Week 3 onward it's been 4K picture quality, but the FPS has taken a huge hit. Yet that FPS hit is only during game action and not during ads or animations, which makes it even weirder (EDIT: on a Roku Smart TV FWIW)

Islanders' third jersey schedule released this evening. 8 appearances for the season starting tomorrow night

It's October 16th and Syracuse is undefeated and bowl eligible. Going to be really hard to get through this next stretch, but hey, they've already topped my 5 win expectations and it's not even Halloween yet, so I'll continue to enjoy the ride this season's been
