  1. I'm surprised to see the Rams-49ers game didn't make it on your list this week. That one was easily the worst looking matchup of the week, IMO.
  2. Chicago vs. Green Bay New Orleans vs. Miami Buffalo vs. Atlanta Cincinnati vs. Cleveland LA Rams vs. Dallas Detroit vs. Minnesota Carolina vs. New England Jacksonville vs. NY Jets Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore Tennessee vs. Houston NY Giants vs. Tampa Bay San Francisco vs. Arizona Philadelphia vs. LA Chargers Oakland vs. Denver Indianapolis vs. Seattle Washington vs. Kansas City
  3. Yep. The Department of Defense alone spent over $9 million between 2011-2015 on military tributes. Here's a list of teams that got paid for their "patriotism": http://deadspin.com/these-teams-earned-the-most-from-the-militarys-paid-pa-1740567338
  4. So it's okay to peacefully protest police violence in this country so long as you don't do it during a football game?
  5. Five bucks says this person thinks Mexico is in South America.
  6. Never forget the greatest premature TD celebration of all-time ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN9bDZ4ej_w
  7. Please let this be true! This could be one of the best looking matchups of the year!
  8. The Bills' defense steps up again today. I did not expect them to be able to beat the Broncos after such a dismal offensive performance last week. Kudos to Tyrod Taylor for bouncing back and making some nice throws.
  9. Spoiler alert: I look forward to watching OKC lose to the Warriors in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals as the Warriors go on to defeat the Cavaliers in six games for the NBA title. There, now you know how the 2017-2018 season will end. The NBA, where predictability happens!
  10. The NFL needs to cut the TNF schedule in half and go back to scheduling all the games starting in November like they did pre-2012. Let CBS and NBC split 10 games and call it a day. Not even a 41-39 final score is enough to make me care about a Thursday night Rams-49ers game.
  11. Ah, I see. I thought we were talking about telecasts only. I stand corrected.
  12. I think those were created retroactively. As far as I know, they never used team acronyms during game telecasts until the first score bug was introduced in 1994 by FOX. I believe they just used "L.A." for both teams during that '94 season, but I'm not completely positive. Here's an example of NBC not using acronyms for the Raiders or Bills in the 1990 AFC championship game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DsO7n52GcI
  13. I don't believe they used acronyms back then like they do now with score bugs. I'm pretty sure they just went with "L.A. Rams" and "L.A. Raiders" when showing the score.
  14. LA Rams vs. San Francisco Tampa Bay vs. Minnesota Baltimore vs. Jacksonville Denver vs. Buffalo New Orleans vs. Carolina Pittsburgh vs. Chicago Atlanta vs. Detroit Cleveland vs. Indianapolis Houston vs. New England Miami vs. NY Jets NY Giants vs. Philadelphia Seattle vs. Tennessee Cincinnati vs. Green Bay Kansas City vs. LA Chargers Oakland vs. Washington Dallas vs. Arizona
  15. Good. I was never a fan of placing the patch on the back of the jersey anyway. It would be nice if they brought back the center court Finals logo too...
  16. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/nfl-tv-ratings-slide-worries-wall-street-1041187
  17. I know that all 32 owners split the revenue from the national TV contracts, but how much or little do local TV ratings factor into that? If a team like the Rams have low attendance numbers (granted, ticket sales only make up a sliver of the NFL's revenue pie) and their TV ratings are garbage while playing in a market like Los Angeles, wouldn't this hurt the league's bottom-line in some significant way somewhere down the road? I mean if you have two teams in L.A. that can't draw fans to the games AND people don't care enough to watch them on TV, what good is a team's value if nobody in that market cares? I read somewhere that the Rams averaged higher ratings in St. Louis than in L.A. last season. I find that hilarious.
  18. One of these teams just so happens to be the Cleveland Cavaliers...
  19. The Eagles should have worn their green pants against KC. And the Saints would have looked much better had they worn gold pants instead of the all-black look.
  20. I noticed that too. It seemed like the lights in there were a bit too bright.
  21. My favorite score bugs: 2006-2009 FOX 2015-present MNF 2006-2008 CBS 2009-2011 NBC SNF
  22. I'm watching the game on FOX right now and it looks like there are more Redskins fans than Rams fans in attendance.
