  1. Assuming that Kyrie has salted the earth in Brooklyn and the Lakers could swing such a deal, this is the only situation that makes any sense. The Lakers have absolutely nothing on the horizon past LeBron and therefore nothing to lose if/when Kyrie turns the locker room inside out. In the meantime, he can't be a worse fit on the court than Westbrook. But every other team in the league would be supremely dumb to go anywhere near this guy.
  2. The home OH I'M SORRY, ASSOCIATION home should be white-on-white. I hate that Wizards thing where you're not quite sure what color the uniform is supposed to be.
  3. Maybe slide a pair of Paterno glasses on the main cat logo.
  4. That was a pretty insufferable deluge of cheese even by Laker/Cowboy fan standards.
  5. I'd much rather be Seattle or Utah, losing to an established dynasty, then be the team that cedes a title to the Chris Paul chokebillies or some other fraud squad (which is the term I would probably be using to refer to this Celtics team if they were not wearing green jerseys).
  6. "durrrrr they said we couldn't play together durrrrr" YEP
  7. LOOK AT ALL THOSE CHICKENS TURNOVERS
  8. I'd much rather this loss come against the likes of Golden State than say, Phoenix.
  9. Lmao this is how you respond when Steve Kerr guarantees a victory on your home floor? Garbage.
  10. Disgusting. Just forfeit the game, it'd be less shameful.
  11. Game/series. I don't know why I watch this crap.
  12. They were heroballing and acting like the three was the only valid shot in that situation, which it wasn't. Bad time for the December Celtics to show up.
  13. They deserve this (probable) loss. Playing 3-or-bust just because you're down 3 points with 2 minutes to go is dumb.
  14. Angels = baseball Knicks. The owner's not gonna put himself under the guillotine sadly.
  15. Thank the lord, the Celtics blowing home court would have been the cherry on top of this wide-ranging poo splatter of a day. THERE IS STILL GAME 4 HOWEVER
  16. Hot prediction: The NHL will expand again before the NBA. If the NBA does expand I think an actual open expansion process would be fascinating given how much the league has changed since the last one (the four-teamer in the late 80s). Back then the Lakers were the only team that fit the profile of a destination franchise. Nowadays, thanks to that expansion plus a couple of other teams getting their act together, there are several "destination" teams that will always be able to attract franchise talent and keep themselves on the map, and several other franchises that will only ever be able to draft it, and probably not be able to keep it if they do get it. Needless to say, the NBA definitely wouldn't want to add to the latter list. I was going to go on a spiel about how I don't see why Vegas and Seattle should be the automatic winners and why some other places are interesting, but as of 2016 NBA teams voted in favor of a territory expansion to 150 miles from their home city, instead of just 75 miles. That article makes no mention of potential expansion/relocation though, so maybe that is just for "marketing" purposes and 75 and still the limit for expansion/relocation. If each team now has a 150 mile protection zone, that would leave Vegas and Seattle as pretty much the only expansion options.
  17. Al "Kemba Walker over me?!" Horford Don't even start with this. I'd bet on the Warriors getting at least one in Boston.
  18. Too bad we can't copy/paste off that document because there are some gems in there. > It is well documented that there is a large cat population on the property
  19. 538 says Celtics, west coast people who have, oh let's say "flexible" NBA rooting interests say Warriors. Who do I listen to?
  20. Me trying to talk myself into the Celtics having a decent chance in a very unfavorable situation (game seven on the road): - Jimmy Butler is not going to do that twice - Miami's home crowd is terrible - ABC (and therefore the league itself) would surely rather have the Celtics in the Finals than the Heat, right? Tatum's a Blues fan, right? Any chance one of those Hills Have Eyes looking trolls from that 2019 team is available for a motivational speech?
  21. Alright well f*** ESPN with a rusty auger blade for that "Celtics will beat the Warriors in the Finals" bit this morning existing. Jimmy Butler's just the kind of guy you want to piss off!
  22. Not gonna happen, if only because it's completely unnecessary. The Spurs are already the default home team for (native) Austinites. Unlike Minneapolis vs. St. Paul or Phoenix vs. Not-Phoenix, there is no stupid, yokel-tier animosity between the two cities that would "require" the broader local designation.
  23. What a strange series. Good thing for the Celtics that Miami has home court in name only. For a guy who stumbled ass-first into Jokic eight years ago and has since done jack to put a team around him.
