  1. Now that the TV numbers aren't required, that point is moot. Any team that puts them on the sleeves is choosing to do so. When the numbers are already on the jersey two other times. This point makes no sense. I mean, the Saints have a gold helmet. Does that make it redundant for them to have gold anywhere on their jerseys? What about pants stripes matching the helmet stripes? Why do you need the same striping pattern in two places? It's their logo, it should be prominent. And even if you want to say it being redundant is a valid reason not to use it on the sleeves, numbers are even more redundant. At least you have to travel to a different piece of equipment to find the logo. The numbers already exist multiple other, massive places on the jerseys. They also just aren't a good shape for the space. I think the argument works somewhat if you're advocating for sleeve stripes. They aren't redundant and look good most of the time. But numbers on the sleeve add no team branding, look bad, and are even more redundant than the logo.
  2. The over-detailing isn't the only problem I have with it. I just don't like the shape of it or really anything about it. Logos almost always look better wider instead of taller. Add how tall it is to how awkward of a shape it is and it doesn't hold a candle to their current logo. Not that the current logo is perfect, but it's by far their best in franchise history. As a side note, I'd kill for the Hurricanes to bring back those numbers. So much more unique and full of character than their narrow, bland keyboard font they use currently. I don't get how it's redudant to have the logo on the sleeves just because it's on the helmet. It doesn't appear anywhere else on the jersey. The numbers are already in two other places on the jersey alone. Someone who's a number like 88 would have 8 8's on their jersey. That's not redundant?
  3. A great brand will organically become part of the city's image over time, so doesn't need local references or imagery to represent the city.
  4. Wow, you actually might be right. And I actually like those uniforms. More than anything, this shows how far NFL uniforms have fallen as a whole. Virtually every team had an extremely solid look at minimum.
  5. The uniform is great except for the logo. It is way too detailed to work as a modern logo. These uniforms with their current, recolored logo on the helmet would be their best possible look. I also would put the logo on the sleeves, but that seems to be an unpopular opinion here for some reason.
  6. That helmet is beutiful. That helmet/pants combo would look outstanding with their black and white jerseys. Those should be their full time looks with a set of white pants to wear with the alternate blue jersey only. Throw the silver helmet, silver pants, and black pants in the garbage. Back to the real world though, I don't think they'd wear this combo with the blue pants as an alternate. Those haven't been worn since 2017. They'll most likely pair the blue jersey with either a blue or black helmet and either black or white pants.
  7. It looks like the Panthers will have an alternate helmet this year: "Since teams are allowed to wear an alternate helmet this year, it's a possibility we will see one here. As we mentioned in April, it remains a possibility, so stay tuned." - https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-summer-break-edition FYI: He's a pretty sarcastic writer, so his repeating this phrase twice makes me think he's implying it's happening. As much as I hate alternate helmets, I'd love to see a blue helmet. I'd love to see a blue helmet become their one and only helmet, but it wouldn't be the worst as an alternate. A black helmet would look awful, their black dominant logo would practically be invisible. Add that to the brand dilution that alternate helmets cause and it's a perfect storm of trash.
  8. I'd love to see a mishmash of eras for the Broncos's primaries. Their current logo, 60s jersey, 80s helmet shell (with the current logo) would look amazing.
  9. Worst case scenario played out for the Hurricanes. Disappointing early exit to an inferior team, but went 7-1 at home so the team will be convinced the black jerseys are lucky or whatever. I just hope I live to see the day they play another playoff home game in their actual colors. It's been a 13 year drought so far.
  10. I listen to a lot of Charlotte radio and they talk about Baker all the time. Mostly about how everyone doesn't want it to happen. I'm not nearly as off board as they are. I'd prefer bringing Cam back or somehow moving up to grab Willis (preferably both), but Baker is next on my list. It would really depend on what the asking price would be, but I can't imagine it's much. I'd much prefer Baker to Jimmy G and would prefer almost anyone to another year of Darnold.
  11. This might have already been discussed, but to me that seems like such a bad business move for everyone involved. Not the promo but just the TNF deal in general. Amazon comes off looking like the Grinch, stealing games that were previously free, while the NFL is effectively killing the value of TNF for the next deal. Why would anyone pay anything for it when no one (relative to previous) presumably watches it on Prime for the next few seasons? Not to mention, fewer people watching/talking about games is bad for them in many ways. I can't imagine anyone will pay for Prime to watch the NFL's consensus worst product. Maybe if a given fan's team is playing, they'd sign up for a one month subscription, but no way they're gaining any long term customers at all. So they're basically just flushing tons of money to lose good will.
  12. I'm usually against thinking that one team shouldn't do something just because it's similar to another team. But I think the 5 alternating stripes thing should just be the Browns and the Saints. Even the Saints color rush (which should be their full time) wouldn't be killed by losing the striping pattern. The shade of gold and the number font are what make that uniform.
  13. I won't pretend to know anything about the Phoenix metro area, but it seems like a decade plus of the Coyotes playing so far away may have dampened any enthusiasm that the East Valley you speak of may have had at one point. Also, to me nearby entertainment options = expensive and/or hassle parking.
  14. That absolutely blew my mind. What separates him from Trey Lance (who SF traded THREE 1st rounders for) for example?
  15. I've lived here for a couple years too and I made a specific point to find the tunnel once I heard about it just because they talk about a "secret tunnel from the stadium to the Ollidy Inn" in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (in reference to the Phillies stadium) so I now think any tunnel to any stadium is hilarious by association.
  16. The problem with that interpretation is that they didn't have the demand to fill their previous arena. They averaged 11,500 attendees, so any capacity that their previous arena could hold above that is simply irrelevant. Beyond that, they've surely lowered the demand for tickets by moving far from their previous fanbase and by playing in a college venue. Therefore, even though the supply is going down, the demand is as well.
  17. That's such a terrible business model considering the fact that most of their revenue doesn't come from ticket sales. Pricing people out of tickets - especially in a market like Arizona - is going to cause people to lose interest in the team altogether. There goes TV audience, merch sales, concession sales, etc.
  18. Lucas Oil Stadium has had a tunnel connecting it to the convention center for about 10 years now. I know because I've been in it. It just isn't obvious from pictures because it's underground. Fun fact: if your house has a garage that you park in, you could go from your living room to your seats at a Colts game without ever stepping outside. The Circle Center mall has an underground parking garage that connects to the convention center through skywalks and then to the stadium through the aforementioned tunnel. Also, wouldn't an indoor stadium be less likely to get a stadium series game? Doesn't that defeat the entire point?
  19. I don't know much about Nashville, but I've been there once. It didn't seem to me that they had a convention center on the stadium side of the river. Indy has the stadium directly connected to the convention center and hotels through tunnels/skywalks , which I'd imagine is a big deal in the convention world.
  20. I was mostly poking fun at whoever said that they look like the Patriots because they have logos on the sleeves. This is no less true than that is though. Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing them move the stripe to the sleeve, but just leaving it blank looks awkward.
  21. Noooooooo. The logo looks so good, the shape that it is works perfectly on a sleeve. It would be a travesty if they replaced that with some boxy numbers. We'd look like the Colts with the numbers.
  22. I'm not as warm on the silver pants as you are. The blue color rush pants would be perfect with the black and white jerseys, especially if they ever switched to a blue helmet. I do agree that the black pants don't look good with either the black or white jerseys. They should be reserved exclusively for the blue jerseys. The Panthers should just remove the TV numbers, problem solved. The shoulder stripes look great ever since they switched templates in 2019. I think the two color is what makes them pop, I'd hate to see that go.
  23. The Panthers are wearing their Day 1 uniform set, what is the common sense move for them to make? On the 49ers: I preferred the 2 stripes but the 3 stripes doesn't look bad. The 2 stripes matched the helmet and pants stripes and looked great. I also much preferred the previous wordmark.
