  1. Putting Bradshaw on Pat's level is obviously silly, but calling Bradshaw a game manager is simple ignorance (no offense meant) of how that Steelers team operated. Terry was a menace come playoff time, called his own plays, and was the leader of that locker room. Once the Mel Blount Rule was implemented halfway through his career he started slinging the football, the Steelers offense scores 35 and 31 in back-to-back Super Bowls, he wins MVP both times, and wins the regular season MVP in '78.

With that said, he did greatly benefit from a being in a fantastic situation. Put him on the 70s Patriots and he isn't making the HOF.  But he was most definitely not just along for the ride. Compare the tapes of Bradshaw in Super Bowl XIII with Brad Johnson in XXXVII. It's night and day.

49er players are now saying that they weren't coached up on the new OT rules, and legitimately had no idea that they wouldn't have won if they got a TD.

Chiefs players say that Reid told them on day-1 of SB prep about their OT plan, which was to kick off, and go for 2 if the 49ers scored a TD and practiced the 2-pt play options.

As has been mentioned, you have to be perfect to beat the Chiefs, and even that one detail was enough to cost them.

How in the world does this not get covered at some point during the pregame preparations? Or even a memo during the regular season lmao

The Chiefs eclipsed the Raiders and Broncos in Super Bowl counts within just five seasons.  It's kind of wild that things like that can happen so quickly, especially given that KC trailed them by two beforehand.

5 years ago the Chiefs were the red version of the Jets. Now they have as many Lombardis as the Giants and Packers

Also anyone else remember when SF was 5-0 in the Super Bowl?

Shanahan needs to start applying the Costanza method to his playcalling. I can't believe we're still going to have to hear about how much of a genius he is all next season. He's choked three Super Bowls and an NFC title game the exact same way and never considered changing it up.

Tbf I didn't notice any egregious blunders from Shanahan this time around
