  1. I decided to do a fun creative series for a change. This are going to be jerseys from a wide variety of sports that are all pop culture themed; whether that be comics, video games, movies, etc. If you have any requests I'll take them under consideration, but if it's not something that speaks to me I'll probably pass (I don't want to half ass something). So to start us off is a Ghostbusters hockey jersey

  2. Winnipeg Jets

The Jets home uniform is based on their 2019 Heritage Classic uniform and their away uniform is based on their 2016 Heritage Classic uniform. These are just amazing uniforms and deserve to be in heavy rotation for the Jets; if not their main uniforms. I did make a change of logo to their logo from the 90's. Their current uniforms aren't completely dropped as they are recolored and moved to alternate status. The throwback uniforms are the teams original NHL uniforms

  3. Washington Capitals

The Caps might be the only NHL team that gets their current look completely dropped. The Capitals look has looked terrible since they first introduced it back in 07. It was nice to see a return to the red and blue, but the striping horrible and the wordmark, while a nice nod to the original logo, looks dated. So I decided to make the alternate uniform from the late 90's the home and away uniform. I kept the current blue and red colors, but everything else is from the older uniform. The home main color is blue as well as it works better for the striping and design rather than red. For the alternates I took the teams Reverse Retro and made it the home away and made a white version for the away. I was originally going to have this as the home and away, but the Capital building logo fits the teams branding better as a main uniform IMO. I also dropped the CAPITALS wordmark out of the striping on the front of the jersey. The throwbacks are of course the teams original uniforms

  4. Vegas Golden Knights

I love that the Golden Knights have made their gold alternate their main uniform have moved to grey equipment. It gives them a more unique look and I feel like this was more inline with some of the teams original ideas, but decided not to because it is a very in your face look. So I kept the gold as the home uniform and completely dropped black as you can see in the away uniform. For the alternates I took what they did with the reverse retro and made a grey uniform for the home and a gold version for the away. For the throwback I was able to come up with something completely original and decided to base it on the Las Vegas Gamblers. I went with grey at home and a white away

  5. Vancouver Canucks

For the Canucks home and away I kept them mostly the same except I replaced the Orca with Johnny Canuck. I don't know what the aversion is to this logo, but to me it's historic and is most representative of the team name (especially more than an orca) The alternates are based on their uniforms from the 70's with some of the current branding and logos added in. The throwbacks are from the 90's Bure era

I wanted it to avoid looking like the Canucks as much as possible, so I retained the predominantly white striping.

Thats true. It would end up looking a lot like the Canucks. I would say keep it as is then. It's still a great uniform and I would definitely buy it if it were a real thing (maybe this years RR?)

    LOS ANGELES KINGS

Ever since going back to the Gretzky colors (silver and black), the Kings have looked more menacing than ever, winning 2 Stanley Cups. But I do have a bit of a problem with their uniforms, namely, the piping and the mismatched striping on the black and the white.

While this solution of mine is a bit of a copycat of the Gretzky-era uniforms, the home and road uniform concepts here have some differences, most notably the sleeve number placement. The striping on the pants also gains an update to follow the overall theme of the jerseys.

The silver alternate uniform is inspired by the team's look of the 2000's, minus the modern purple and the city name near the hem. And to separate it from the Reverse Retro uniform, I went with a vintage font for the NOB and the numbers.

Finally, we have the Reverse Retro. And before saying that it's essentially a forum blue and yellow version of the alternate uniform concept, it has some differences, most notably the city name near the hem.

This is a solid LA set that keeps the current identity. Fixing the Striping is a great improvement and that reverse retro is sweet

    That looks super clean!

See I told you. I've been lobbying for the Pats to do this since they introduced the color rush uniform. The white just works so much better with this style uniform than the silver

  9. Toronto Maple Leafs

The original 6 NHL teams fall into two categories; 1. teams that have done very little tot heir uniforms making them untouchable classics i.e. the Habs and Rangers, or 2. they've had many different looks over the years, but have finally settled into a timeless look i.e. the Bruins and Blackhawks. The Leafs fall into the latter category. They have other uniforms that I prefer, but their current uniform had a lot of thought put into it and it really fits their branding. So the home and away stay as is. Now as I said; the Leafs have had many different uniforms throughout the years so their alternates are also throwbacks in a sense. I went with their 1967 Stanley Cup uniforms. I have always preferred this style logo and why not go with the uniform they wore when they last won the Cup. The home throwback is the Arenas uniform from the late 1910's while the away throwback is the St. Pats from just a few years later

  10. Home, away, and alternates are all great. I agree they really have an identity crisis right now and this fixes that. The throwback is a miss for me though. Not because it's Whalers however. i love the Whalers and I love that they wear it once or twice a year. The main dark blue uniform is what doesn't work for me. If you wanna go this route try the lighter blue and green that the Whalers mainly wore. Nice attempt at something different though

  11. I've personally never thought of when combining elements of the two logos to keep the swimming dolphin over the jumping dolphin. This really works. It makes it seem like it's on the attack and that it's menacing. I really dig it. Turn down the amount of sunbursts a little bit and you have a logo that rivals the original

  12. Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa may be the most agreed upon team to need a redesign. Unfortunately with them winning back to back Stanley Cups I don't see them switching uniforms any time soon. This however is my own series so I can do what I want with the team. So for the home and away I came up with these combinations of their home, away, and alternate from the late 00's. I kept blue as the main color and the striping from the alternate, but using the logos from the home and away uniforms. The teams current uniforms are completely ditched as they are modified and used as the alternate uniforms. I brought the black and grey back into the mix to help them stand out formt he Leafs. The throwbacks are the teams original uniforms

  13. St Louis Blues

One of the biggest gripes about the Blues is the use of two shades of blue. So what I did for the home and away is just dropped the dark blue and I gotta say it works. It looks modern, yet classic at the same time. For the alternate I took inspiration form the 90's uniforms, but dropped the god awful red and just stuck to the blue, yellow, and white in what ends up being an actually pretty cool looking uniform. If the Reverse Retro program continues I'd like to see the Blues do something similar. The throwbacks of course are the teams original uniforms

  14. Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken brand is lacking to me and not what I would've went with when designing this team. If this was a redesigning series the Kraken would get some changes for sure, but that's not this series so the home and away stay in place. With the alternates however I was able to get a little creative. I decided to go with a gradient design to mimic the deep sea with the home alternate going to the darker end of the gradient and the away alternate going towards the lighter side of the gradient. The anchor logo is also featured on the front of the jersey. The home throwback is a take on the Seattle Metropolitans. With the Kraken not being a direct tie to the Metropolitans I figured I could do more of a Reverse Retro styled look. The away throwback is a similar concept but this time inspired by the Seattle Totems uniform from the 60's

  15. San Jose Sharks

The Sharks recent rebranding was a step in the right direction for the team, but not quite where they should be. So I started with bringing back black equipment. My next step was to bring in more grey. A lot of people like to bring in more orange, but I think they need to mostly drop orange and use grey more as it's probably the color most associated with sharks. So the teal is dropped from the shark in the logo and replaced with grey and the striping is modified as well. The away uniform uses a grey uniform instead of a white uniform. The home alternate is the stealth uniform kept as is and is made teal for the away alternate. The throwback uniforms are their inaugural uniforms from 1991

  16. Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pens have a great set that is classic yet modern and stands apart from the Boston Bruins so it stays as is for the home and away. The alternates are based off of the Robo Penguin uniforms form the 90's . The home alternate is given a black base while the away alternate is given a yellow base. The home and away throwbacks are the teams second uniforms from the late 60's

    Ottawa Senators (2 of 32)

Next up we have the Ottawa Senators. I like the move back to the retro logo that they went with in their most recent rebrand, but there are a few things that I would've done differently. First off, I changed the jersey crest. They have a beautiful logo, which I feel is more modern, that they could've easily reused here. While I think the Sens look great in black, I actually opted for the red home jersey, white away and then a black alt. Brought back the Peace Tower logo which sits on the shoulders. Brought in some sublimation in the gold stripes which I feel really ties the look together. For the heritage jersey - brought back the classic O look. Really didn't change much. Both patches are in French and then I only went with a single black outline for the numbers on the back. Enough said - here are The Ottawa Senators!

This is a great Sens set

  18. Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers have a unique home and away uniform that many other teams would've changed by now, but the Flyers stuck with it and now it's become a classic look so they stay as is. The Flyers 2019 Stadium Series uniform becomes the away alternate and the home alternate becomes a mainly black version. The 2012 Winter Classic uniform becomes the home throwback and gets a off white counterpart for the away throwback.
