  1. St Louis Blues

One of the biggest gripes about the Blues is the use of two shades of blue. So what I did for the home and away is just dropped the dark blue and I gotta say it works. It looks modern, yet classic at the same time. For the alternate I took inspiration form the 90's uniforms, but dropped the god awful red and just stuck to the blue, yellow, and white in what ends up being an actually pretty cool looking uniform. If the Reverse Retro program continues I'd like to see the Blues do something similar. The throwbacks of course are the teams original uniforms

  2. Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken brand is lacking to me and not what I would've went with when designing this team. If this was a redesigning series the Kraken would get some changes for sure, but that's not this series so the home and away stay in place. With the alternates however I was able to get a little creative. I decided to go with a gradient design to mimic the deep sea with the home alternate going to the darker end of the gradient and the away alternate going towards the lighter side of the gradient. The anchor logo is also featured on the front of the jersey. The home throwback is a take on the Seattle Metropolitans. With the Kraken not being a direct tie to the Metropolitans I figured I could do more of a Reverse Retro styled look. The away throwback is a similar concept but this time inspired by the Seattle Totems uniform from the 60's

  3. San Jose Sharks

The Sharks recent rebranding was a step in the right direction for the team, but not quite where they should be. So I started with bringing back black equipment. My next step was to bring in more grey. A lot of people like to bring in more orange, but I think they need to mostly drop orange and use grey more as it's probably the color most associated with sharks. So the teal is dropped from the shark in the logo and replaced with grey and the striping is modified as well. The away uniform uses a grey uniform instead of a white uniform. The home alternate is the stealth uniform kept as is and is made teal for the away alternate. The throwback uniforms are their inaugural uniforms from 1991

  4. Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pens have a great set that is classic yet modern and stands apart from the Boston Bruins so it stays as is for the home and away. The alternates are based off of the Robo Penguin uniforms form the 90's . The home alternate is given a black base while the away alternate is given a yellow base. The home and away throwbacks are the teams second uniforms from the late 60's

    Ottawa Senators (2 of 32)

Next up we have the Ottawa Senators. I like the move back to the retro logo that they went with in their most recent rebrand, but there are a few things that I would've done differently. First off, I changed the jersey crest. They have a beautiful logo, which I feel is more modern, that they could've easily reused here. While I think the Sens look great in black, I actually opted for the red home jersey, white away and then a black alt. Brought back the Peace Tower logo which sits on the shoulders. Brought in some sublimation in the gold stripes which I feel really ties the look together. For the heritage jersey - brought back the classic O look. Really didn't change much. Both patches are in French and then I only went with a single black outline for the numbers on the back. Enough said - here are The Ottawa Senators!

This is a great Sens set

  6. Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers have a unique home and away uniform that many other teams would've changed by now, but the Flyers stuck with it and now it's become a classic look so they stay as is. The Flyers 2019 Stadium Series uniform becomes the away alternate and the home alternate becomes a mainly black version. The 2012 Winter Classic uniform becomes the home throwback and gets a off white counterpart for the away throwback.

The Senators did the right thing going back to their original uniforms so I stuck with that change and kept their home and away uniforms. The one change I did make is using the updated version of their original logo that they never used on a uniform for some reason. For the home alternate I took the black alternate form the early 2000's and then made a red version to go with it for the away alternate.  The home throwback is their alternate from the 10's which of course takes cues from the original Senators and the away throwback is the 2014 Heritage Classic uniform.

  8. New York Rangers

The Rangers are another team that have a truly iconic look, but one thing has always bothered me and that's the asymmetrical striping on the home and away uniforms. So I decided to make the uniforms match just a little more. The Home alternate is then the Lady Liberty uniform. I'm not the biggest fan of the Lady Liberty uniform, but I know people love it and it's easily the best choice in an alternate uniform. The away alternate gets a silver base as I felt it fit better than white. The away throwback is the 2012 Winter Classic uniform and gets a blue version for the home throwback.

    Intro to Series

Hey everyone! Back at it again with another full league overhaul, but this time the NHL. Took a bit of a break after I wrapped up my NFL Series, but here we are. I've done a full overhaul of the NHL in the past, but it's been a good 7 years or so. I figured it was time for another. For this series - I will be going through all 32 NHL teams in no particular order. Each team will have 4 jerseys - home (dark), away (light), alternate and a heritage. The heritage jersey will be a blend of eras. Some may be very classic, some may be outlandish, but these jerseys will tie various elements of the team's past into one. Each of these concepts is simply what I'd like to see the team wear on ice. All designs are done in MS Paint. As always - I truly hope you enjoy my work and the series. C&C is always greatly appreciated!

Los Angeles Kings (1 of 32)

Starting off the series with the Los Angeles Kings. My first order of business was to drop the shield crest that they currently sport. It just doesn't do it for me. I personally feel those elements could be separated and that's exactly what I did here. The main jersey crest here features the iconic crown and I've moved the LA patch to the shoulders. This is one of the few designs where I actually started with the design instead of the color scheme. Now I know there are a bunch of folks that probably want to see the Kings return to purple and gold, but I'm not one of them. I love the simplicity of the black, white and silver. That said - I'm rolling with that scheme for the home, away and alt. I did keep the number font intact as it's super unique and fits well with the design. As I mentioned in the intro, the heritage jerseys might be a little funky in some cases and this is one. Went with the good ole' BK logo for the main crest. I also brought back some purple and gold as I recolored the logo itself. I moved the crown to the shoulders and recolored it to match. Striping pays homage to their 90s unis, but consists of black, purple and gold. If you've followed any of my previous threads, you'll know I'm a fan of sublimation. On the sleeves, we have the classic Kings script in a deep purple to contrast the lighter shade.  Anyway - here is the set - hope you enjoy!

If you're not gonna go back to forum blue (and i can respect you preferring the black and silver) this is the best look for their current branding. You're completely correct that splitting the crown and letters makes the look markedly better. I like how you used the Burger King logo as well. It's a legitimately nice jersey

    NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

    bVZGzCS.jpeg

I actually like their rebrand away from the Super Bowl Dynasty Era, but it always bugged me they only had one pair of pants. Added a silver pair to go with the silver helmets. Much like what they are wearing this year, threw it back to their old Pat Patriot design. Rounds everything out nicely.

There's the 2nd division! What division should I post next?

Drop the silver completely and you'd have a great set

  11. New York Islanders

Islanders home and away stay as is; no need to change anything there. For the Home alternate I decided to go with the Fisherman design, but with the classic logo and using the royal blue. I know there are A LOT of people who dislike the fisherman design, but it's easily the best alternate the Islanders have had and I really like the Fisherman look. For the away alternate instead of doing a white uniform I went with a teal look. The throwback uniforms were a tough choice as I knew I wanted to keep the Islanders current look which is essentially their original look. So I went with the original navy blue uniform as it was the first change for the Islanders after the Fisherman look

  12. New Jersey Devils

The Devils home and away take a simple step back a design phase; bringing back the original waist striping instead of the current thin stripes at the bottom of the jersey. The Alternate uniforms are based off of the New Jersey "Jersey" Jersey, but with some modifications. I added more red into the uniform and used the teams logo over the Jersey wordmark. For the away alternate I though about making it red, but with how many teams use red I decided to just go with a white uniform. The Throwback uniforms are based of their inaugural Jersey uniforms with the green instead of black

  13. Nashville Predators

I think the Preds have one of the more underrated uniforms in the NHL right now and only gets the hate is does because they have bold color choices. So the home and away are kept intact. The home alternate is a take on their original uniforms with the away alternate being based on the teams previous Reverse Retro. The home and away throwback uniforms are based on the teams winter classic uniforms

  14. Montreal Canadiens

The Habs are one of those teams that are considered untouchable, but their asymmetrical home and away uniforms have always really bothered me. So the home uniform stays and then gets a matching away uniform with the chest striping. The current away uniform is then moved down to the alternate away and given a matching home uniform. Now with the home alternate I know I'll probably be crucified for it, but I liked what Montreal did with their Reverse Retro so I made the alternate blue as well. I think it works as an alternate for the Habs. The Home throwback is then a throwback to the 20's and then given a white away version that also takes some cues form the 2016 Winter Classic uniform.

  15. Minnesota Wild

The home uniform for the wild is untouched the away uniform however is given the wheat color treatment and the striping is done to match the home uniform. The home alternate is a take on their alternate from the late 00's. I recolored it to make green the main color and then created a wheat version for the away. Their previous alternate is then used in the throwback slot as it is a feauxback essentially and it's better than their Winter Classic uniform. This is also given a wheat away version. I didn't do a North Stars throwback as they are technically the Dallas Stars franchise. I would've loved to see the North Stars as well, but it didn't fit the rules I sent for myself in this series.

  16. Los Angeles Kings

So this might be the biggest overhaul in this entire series. I did what people have been calling for for years and returned the Kings to Forum Blue and Gold. The home and away were originally going to be their Reverse Retro uniform, but the logo didn't feel modern enough for a team in the current day. So I recolored their current crown and made the uniform into a modern version of their original uniforms. The alternate home and away are then recolorings of their current home and away. The throwback uniforms are then the teams original uniforms
