  1. I don't. They're the same knee jerk reactions without any explanations as to why they're "fire" or "garbage", except on here the people are just being negative and whiny Case in point: Well see. But until the Raiders have an unnecessary black helmets and Packers have a similarly pointless green one, I'll maintain that you're all just overreacting
  2. Yeah that's not a bad idea at all! Just not sure how it would work from a copyright point of view
  3. Oops. Yeah I meant a powder blue helmet! lol To be fair, it does kinda prove my point. Which teams would really use the rule to introduce a gimmicky helmet? Jaguars, maybe? But even then, I feel like after 2 failed experiments, they're probably gonna stick to a solid black helmet for a few more years. Unless you're really opposed to the Patriots and Bucs bringing back white helmets or Bills bringing back red helmets for their respective throwback uniforms, I don't see what the big deal is. Would it be the end of the world if the Jets had a black helmet or if the Texans had a red helmet to wear from time to time? Just two random examples but I can't really think of many other teams that could maybe use the rule for an alternate helmet that isn't a throwback
  4. I was kidding obviously, hence the lol at the end. No offense I understand how you would say that and I get that a white Rams is completely unnecessary. Glad we can agree that there is nothing wrong with a Rams helmet in a vacuum. That was the point I was trying to make basically You may be right about the comparison to the NBA but at the same time, I don't think it's gonna happen. First of all, in the NBA they're allowed up to 5 uniforms if I'm not mistaken, so it's not really comparable. And secondly, the culture is different. Just cause they can doesn't mean the Raiders will introduce black helmets to their rotation. Other than throwbacks, it's probably only gonna affect very few teams. Like maybe the Titans bring back a navy helmet. Maybe the Seahawks introduce a silver helmet. I don't think Chicago is gonna have an orange helmet just because. Hell, even a team like the Panthers that could add a light blue helmet to their rotation is probably gonna pass on the opportunity, they've had the same uniform for such a long time. I don't think you need to worry about the NFL becoming like the NBA is all I'm saying
  5. I dunno, sometimes I feel like this forum should rise above the typical takes you read in other places on the internet. The same old "OMG it sucks cause I'm not used to it! NFL helmets were better when I was a kid" or "It sucks cause it's not old as dirt!" I feel like I'm way too involved in hockey to be seeing this type of behavior when discussing NHL uniforms and I'm guilty of it myself but it's really obvious to me that some posters in this thread grew up watching football and are just old and grumpy and jaded about anything that doesn't look like a Packers or Bears or Raiders uniform And sometimes it's weirdly arbitrary. Like the people that complain about the Cowboys using two shades of silver on their pants and helmets are often the same who claim the Rams had gorgeous uniforms back when they had royal blue jerseys and navy helmets. There's just no logic to it. I'm not perfect but whenever I think a uniform looks like I at the very least try and explain why and if I can't, then I just say I don't personally like it. I think if there's one place where we should be more open minded towards uniforms, it's here. Just tired of seeing knee jerk reactions like "bone is ugly" or "two helmets is bad" /rant lol
  6. What a knee jerk reaction. The white helmet looks good, grandpa lol
  7. Some teams have really done all they could with what they had like Chicago (is there anything they haven't tried yet?), Montreal (I don't think anybody wants to see the white jersey RR'd in red), Toronto (2 color team, everything is already reversed), Buffalo (wouldn't wanna see them in yellow) etc but a lot of teams still have some jerseys I wanna see RR'd ANA: OG jerseys in jade, late 90s 3rd and 4th jerseys in eggplant, MD script jersey in just about any other color, Wild Wing in eggplant, the possibilities are endless ARI: Kachina in burgundy BOS: Pooh bear in black. Yellow socks CAR: OG jerseys in silver/gray or maybe even black. Either way, red gear COL: OG jerseys in blue, leave the Nordiques alone, the fleur de lys makes no sense on a team not based in Quebec or Louisiana, much less in burgundy. I know, hot take DAL: Early 00s jerseys but in current colors, this time done right, no knockoff Color Rush whiteout. Victory base jersey and most importantly, victory green gear DET: 40s white jerseys with the white sleeves, but with the reversed logo. Possibly with the weird whimsical 82-83 font. No silver nonsense EDM: 90s jersey but in copper. Cause why not lol LAK: OG jerseys in black and silver NJ: I've always wanted to see the Brodeur era jerseys in black NYI: Fisherman in teal or in current colors, OG jerseys in orange or in Fisherman colors NYR: Lady Liberty in royal blue. I never liked the Rangers in navy, they're the only team using a true and bright royal blue and it looks great PIT: Gradient RoboPen in white STL: Early 90s jerseys in current colors. Royal blue gear SJS: OG jerseys in black or grey again TBL: Storm 3rd in black, maybe even getting the stealth treatment I usually hate with hollow numbers and all. In this specific case, it would work imo because the design is busy VAN: OG jerseys in green WAS: OG jerseys in current colors. Maybe even with the current logo. Basically just not using the terrible Edge template lol
  8. Yeah either another round or maybe just allowing teams to keep using them as full time alternates. Another round might be complicated for teams like Toronto, Detroit and NYI who already seemed to struggle with coming up with just one jersey, let alone two lol. So maybe making it optional this time. How about another program? Not sure what it could be. A Turn back the clock/Stadium Series type of thing where every team has to come up with a futuristic design, perhaps? It would probably be panned across the board, though
  9. Speaking of which, I find it strange that there is no info out there or even just rumors yet on if the RR are coming back next year. Seems to me like it was a success in every way, from fan reception to sales, maybe I'm wrong?
  10. As the only person in the world who likes the bone jerseys, I find the white ones disappointing, they really needed colored sleeves to make it stand out a bit more. I wonder if the new white jerseys will only be paired with the sol pants or if they plan on using the blue pants as well. Maybe even white pants? They seem to like the mono look
  11. No one has posted the white Rams jersey yet? Wrong thread?
  12. Fair enough, but do they need three shades of blue, two of which they don't even use on their primary uniforms?
  13. I hope they surprise us with seafoam blue gear or something cause from what I've seen they're seriously boring uniforms. They're not ugly or dumb or anything, just boring, and for an expansion team, that's probably worse lol
  14. Meh, the royal blue and navy blue uniforms are completely unnecessary. Navy blue I can understand, but royal blue? Why
  15. 2 and 3. Leave yellow pants to the other LA team
  16. Yeah artificial scarcity sucks. It's 10x worse if you're a sneakerhead lol. Sports jerseys aren't on that level yet, you have to act fast but they never sell out instantly, there are no bots or online raffles. But all's well that ends well, I found a legit Habs RR for retail yesterday and my gf gave my counterfeit jersey to her 10 year old nephew so everybody's happy
  17. Best Oilers concept I've ever seen. This is exactly what they would be wearing if it was up to me, I don't even mind the pant stripes
  18. Absolutely not comparable with the Canadiens who have had the same basic template for over a hundred years, won in almost every decade and most importantly, tweaked small details like fonts, collar even the shade of red and shape of the logo several times to keep it from looking dated. It's a jersey that is absolutely not associated with one particular decade of excess and loud designs and one specific player, unlike the Oilers Yes, they're the same franchise but they modernized their jerseys in the 90s and instead of continuing to update them, they simply went back to the old uniforms to cash in on nostalgia. Again, not comparable to the Habs or Wings in that regard Not talking down to people, I'm allowed to dislike a jersey and people are allowed to disagree. I'm not being disrespectful to anyone or singling them out, I'm just saying the only reason these jerseys are so highly regarded is because people are wearing their nostalgia goggles. If Gretzky had been on a different team and they had been a mediocre team in the 80s, you sincerely think people would be clamoring for a return to those uniforms? They'd be on the same level as the black spaghetti plate Canucks jerseys or those 80s Blues jerseys with the thin red stripes, not necessarily ugly jerseys but dated for sure, a niche group of people would want them back but everyone else would be glad they moved on
  19. But not as a third jersey. Anyway, not really trying to argue here, I have no idea what I'm talking about lol. I'm hoping they keep Blasty instead but until someone more knowledgeable steps in, I think the Reebok carryover monstrosities are sticking around for a couple more seasons
  20. I think going with navy instead of royal blue was a step in the right direction, leave royal blue to the Islanders, they pull off those colours way better. Solid gear, no orange fingers or cuff roll on the gloves or stripes on the pants. Single outline on numbers. Honestly if it was up to me they would scrap the logo and start from scratch but I get that some people still want them to cosplay as Gretzky's team so just minor changes that would help make the jersey look less loud and garish. I'm not saying the stealth third is perfect but the current white jersey looks much better than the 80s version to me. I would simply make a navy version to go with it, definitely without the orange yoke and cuffs, like the 90s redesign, and maybe keep the stealth 3rd around since the players seem to like it. I'm not a fan of the orange jersey at all. Too loud
  21. No it sounds like something that is way overdue. Those 80s Oilers uniforms look really dated I thought they had to keep it for at least 2 more seasons, no? Someone who works at adidas said something along those lines in the 2020-21 thread if I'm not mistaken
  22. Same goes for Reverse Retro NHL jerseys. I seriously hope they make another batch available or that some teams keep their RR as permanent 3rd jerseys cause I missed out on getting a blue Habs jersey and all my girlfriend could find was a counterfeit. I can't blame her, her intentions were good and she didn't know any better but damn it was hard not to look ungrateful when I opened the package cause it really looked like garbage
