The Lions stupid white pants bug me as much as the Saints do. The silver/gray and blue pants have the same striping pattern, but the white pants are just solid. Same with the Saints white pants being solid (I know the black ones are as well and it bugs me just as much).

The Seahawks have been looking really nice though with their navy and gray combo. Props to them for making a good uniform decision there.

Where did the white pants even come from?? They just seemed to show up randomly in 2021 for their Week 2 game against the Packers. From what I could tell on GUD that was the very first time they've ever worn all white. Absolutely ridiculous that this was allowed to happen.

  2. Teams whose uniforms could be modern classics if they only wore the correct combos (spoiler alert, it's literally half the league):

    - Cardinals (can you try any other combo besides all one color?)

    - Panthers (you do not need black pants)

    - Lions (why did you ever introduce those white pants?)

    - Texans (either all-white or navy leggings on the road. exhilarating.)

    - Jaguars (please also add literally any design element besides the logo on the chest)

    - Dolphins (the throwbacks are still better, but these are decent uniforms)

    - Vikings (purple socks at home please)

    - Patriots (silver. pants. that is all.)

    - Saints (such wasted potential here.)

    - Jets (all black uniform parts and accessories have to go)

    - Eagles (white leggings in the Super Bowl was embarrassing)

    - Seahawks (all navy has been a staple of this uniform since the beginning and looks pretty good, but the all white look they started last year has to go)

The majority of the NFL's uniform designs aren't bad at all -- when executed properly, they look amazing. But the death of properly worn socks and the rise of color rush and leggings has led to a monumental drop in aesthetic quality in the NFL.

Nice to see him finally put it all together under a new coach

What a rollercoaster of a game. I spent a lot of the third period screaming obscenities at the refs after one of the most baffling disallowed goals I've ever seen at the end of the second. I'm so happy for Laf, he's had a lot of criticism thus far in his career.

I suppose one could make the argument for the Titans. I wish the sword didn’t widen towards the sleeve end. There’s many things wrong with the current set, but the striping isn’t one of the them.

I just noticed that there's a navy side panel on that jersey. It's so unnecessary, please remove it.

I know I'm being Unfair to LeBron, but a lot of the NBA uniform weirdness we have now lies right at the feet of the mid-2000s Cavaliers, who, rather than using LeBron to elevate the team's brand for the long term, went for short-term gains by creating as many LeBron jerseys to sell as they could with the CavFanatic mashups. I don't think the NFL has fallen to point-and-click recolors yet, but they will.

I feel like the five-year rule is the only thing preventing the NFL from slipping into true uniform anarchy

  6. Way off topic but I went to see the San Diego Gulls tonight and I was shocked how much I liked the look of what is essentially a recolored Reebok Flames jersey

Idk the light blue just popped. I guess my point here is that an ugly modern uniform template can really be improved by vibrant color scheme, but using the darker, muted colors of the 2000s made those Reebok designs flop.

For real. If you must have white pants (they didn't) you can't even put stripes on them? It's like the players said "we wanna wear all icy white" and they just ran to Dick's.

Or are stripeless pants cool now and I missed it? Who other than FSU, Notre Dame, Penn St.  and Michigan (and even they put stripes on the white ones and you can argue the navy ones suck) pulls off stripeless pants? (And none are NFL teams) And honestly they probably only do cause it's always been that way. And in FSU/ND/Michigan's case the gold/maize color is able to stand out on its own.

Ravens black pants look like crap, Saints white and black pants look like crap. I'm sure I'm forgetting others.

Waiting for them to wear them with the blue jerseys that feature no white at all. You know that day is coming and it's gonna be mismatched Rams bad.

-The Cardinals' red stripeless pants are horrible.

-The Jaguars can pull it off depending on their jersey/sock choice. The Commies also wear contrasting socks with their burgundy and white stripeless pants from time to time, but their jerseys are so bad that it doesn't matter, they still look terrible (this year they've done all white a whole bunch of times and it does not work)

I don't think they're lying about this. See: Jacksonville, Arizona, Miami, Atlanta - not to mention a lot of what they've done in other sports recently. If anything, they've gone too far with being reductive.

But if the team doesn't want that approach, they have to try something else, like those ugly Commanders uniforms that Dan Snyder's wife insisted on.

Owners designing the uniforms with their personal preferences is bad enough. Now we have the owner's spouse (otherwise not involved with the team) being the primary designer? Thank goodness the Snyders are gone.

Eh, several redesigns have been quite simple. Vikings and Dolphins both look semi-traditional. Jaguars are too simple for their own good. Lions don’t look overly busy, they just refuse to wear the right combinations. Same for Jets.

With the Lions I'm still wondering how they were ever allowed to wear white pants. They literally don't match with anything, they're just plain white. No design or thought put into them.
