^ I had a jersey like that a few years ago.

Came away with a bonanza today: A blank Los Angeles Rams jersey for $20, a Baseketball "Sir Swish" Remer for $25, and a Tune Squad jersey from the original Space Jam movie for $8. Nice!

Well, the year is almost over, and now they are up to 1978.

For football uniforms, the various manufacturers of uniforms (Sand Knit/Ripon, Russell, Wilson, Champion) have had different-looking stock block numerals.
For instance, the TV numbers on Russell's block numbers are narrow, but the Sand Knit/Ripon ones are wider.

Here's something I've wondered about: I know that the upcoming 2023 XFL season will have uniforms supplied by Under Armour, but who provided the uniforms for XFL 2.0's first (and ultimately pandemic-aborted) season? I haven't found any info on that, anyone have any? Thanks.

Well, I got a Seahawks Nike jersey for $10.

Hmm - can't find anyone with that name in the all-time roster (Latta). Fan jersey, I'm guessing?
John Thomson wore it from 79-81, and John Jefferson from 81-84
Yep. It was the pre-1984 style, w/no collar trim and TV numbers on the sleeves.

I found an early 1980s Green Bay Packers #83 jersey with LATTA on the back and an uncrested New Jersey Devils 1980s-era Christmas colors jersey for $50 altogether.

I got a New York Yankees jersey for $8, and the 1997-2000 Pittsburgh Pirates jersey at a "vintage sports" store for $49.
-
Also: The average size of the NFL jersey TV number is 4" (10cm).
-
^ This was reportedly because jersey-maker CCM no longer produced the required hues.

The database's most recent year in the books is now 1974.

Hey, all - does Nike even make batting practice jerseys for MLB anymore? I know the last ones Majestic had were 3/4 sleeve jerseys.

Another day, another find: The 2010-12 Detroit Tigers BP cap for $6.

Got the San Francisco Giants alternate cap (w/the orange bill) for $15 @ Buffalo Exchange.

^ Steelers did the same thing. It wasn't until 1997 that they became the last NFL team to switch to a V-neck collar that it changed.

Here's a Neil O'Donnell jersey from '94 showing the NFL shield below the crew-neck collar. Odd they did it that way.

From 1980-88, the New York Giants used 5" TV numbers (as opposed to the standard 4") on their jerseys:

By 1989, and continuing until the end of this uniform run's set in 1999, they shrank back to the standard 4": - 1989

It's video, but the classic Edmonton Oilers getup met the first-year Colorado Avalanche for five games in the 1995-96 season.

Not sure whether it counts now, but from 1968-96, the Pittsburgh Steelers positioned their TV numbers halfway through the sleeve and shoulder pad.

A pitcher for the Battle Creek Battle Jacks of the Northwoods League (a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league) is apparently taking the high pants to new extremes.
Do. Not. Want, personally. What say you?

My goodness, I've noticed things are slower around these boards lately, eh? But that won't stop me from making this post.
