  1. Tom-Scott-Calgary-1984.jpg

Going north of the border yet again, this is Tom Scott, who started his career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, then was traded for the rights to receiver Joe Poplwaski to the Edmonton Eskimos, where he spent his best years (appearing in all five of the Esks' Grey Cup wins from 1978 to 1982), finishing out his career as a Calgary Stampeder in 1984.

I always thought white outlines looked good on grey baseball uniforms.

I agree. The white outline (plus the sleeve trim) on that Dodger road set (worn from 1977-98) really made it pop. W/O those two elements (which is what their road jersey now looks like, or at least their alternate), it looks too much like their home jerseys.

The fightin' Ranger and Red Wing (and three-time Stanley Cup Champion) Joey Kocur played all of seven games with the Canucks in 1996, making this photo all the more rare.

Not the best pic (sorry about how small it is), but the late Philadelphia Eagles safety Andre Waters completed his career with the Arizona Cardinals.

Just to be clear: Are you asserting they only wore white over white in 1998? If so, I believe that's right. Or are you saying the whole time they were known as the Tennessee Oilers? That was for two seasons, and in 1997, they wore blue twice. Once against the Dolphins, and once at the Cowboys.

I just wanted to make sure I understood what you meant.

I was clarifying that the Oilers wore white-on-white only in their last season under that name in 1998. Sorry for the confusion. It's too bad, those blue jerseys were beauties.

I can't find photos, but the only time the Tennessee Oilers played the pewter Bucs was in November 1998. Did get some blurry screenshots from a video of a long TD run by Steve McNair. The interesting part is that they wore white pants this game as well.

The white-on-white combo was the only set worn by the Tennessee Oilers in their lame-duck season under that name in 1998.
