  1. This must be especially galling for Laker fans. At least I hope so.
  2. Except for the fact that you’re totally used to it, is Citronauts whackier than Cornhuskers?
  3. It's a tricky one. If they do it (like the rumors are saying) they have to find a way to not look like they're too close to the Titans, who will have a very similar color scheme. They also can't just straight up ape any of the old Oiler looks since those still belong to Tennessee. My solution is to play up the red as the primary color and reduce the navy blue to logos and wordmarks only (similar to what Jacksonville has done with the gold). IMO you have to keep navy as part of the logo because the helmet logo, based on the Texas flag, doesn't work without the navy. I realize the alternate uniform looks a lot like an old Oiler uniform from the early 70's, but that's far enough in the past that I'm not sure it would be too big of an issue. It's not an especially well remembered time for the Oilers.
  4. The Giants uniforms from the middle of the 20-teens (when they had just the single pair of gray pants, home and road) is my favorite G-Men uniform. But somehow, all their weird white pants versions they've trotted out in the past few years has spoiled it a bit for me. For this I went back to the early 70's Tarkenton uniform, which is just solid and classic, and no one could complain about. As for the strange alt for the 49ers and Jets... yeah, both are a bit much. I did something similar in my baseball series, just trying to see how far I could push the fourth (and honestly, unnecessary) uniform. Hey, that's why they're called concepts, right? (Plus I'm waiting to see how many people have no clue where the navy and gold for the Jets comes from.)
  5. Some of the images in that thread are super old and originally hosted in Photobucket which I haven’t used in years. That’s probably at least part of the problem. I’ve been thinking about letting that thread die and restarting one without all the clutter.
  6. Leave her alone... it was a fine answer.
  7. Thanks. According to GID they wore a similar blue a million years ago, although I’m sure I darkened it slightly to get a bit more contrast.
  8. Seriously? You think if the names are close, someone would just say, "Hey, it's so close I'll just go ahead and drop the slur... they're basically asking for it"? I find that really hard to believe. Now, if you think having a new name start with Red might make accidental slip ups happen more often, I could see that being a possibility, but that would IMO be on the announcers and their ability to police themselves, which isn't Washington's problem. Regardless, "cop out" isn't the term for either situation, which is what made me ask in the first place.
  9. Teams with a stripe-less gold helmet (UCLA, FLA St. Dame, etc.) look good in stripe-less gold pants. Michigan, I think, looks good in stripe-less pants, but that just might be because I'm used to it. My guess is that if Michigan had always had a narrow navy blue pants stripe I'd think it looks good and would have trouble picturing them without it. IMO, that's about it. Every other team I can think of with blank pants would look better in some kind of stripe. That includes Texas and Penn State. Both have had uniforms with pants stripes, and both definitely looked better...
  10. White helmet has a classic and attractive stripe. White pants are blank. Fail.
