The XFL should try to buy the San Antonio Commanders, assuming the AAF folds. That identity could use a tweak or two but has potential.

If this happened, all the Commanders fans would follow. I still want to see who outfits the XFL. If it's adidas they need to make sure they get the A1 template. Maybe Russell tries again since they're getting back in the game?

According to https://twitter.com/TheSpringLeague/status/1108786957172334602 its the Austin Generals

TSL is just the generic The Spring League helmet

It seems weird to brand one team only, and the excuse of crediting it to Futures Command moving in is just crap! I think it's just a hint that the XFL has possibly bought the FXFL logos and identities and intend to use them over names like Clash, Xcitement and Bolts.

So you get $5 off and no 4K option. Is the UFC community okay with this? You're paying $60/year just for access to buy more $60 PPVs (intro price notwithstanding).

I think ESPN+ is a great deal and I have no interest in the UFC content at all. Interesting to see ESPN branch out the platform for more uses like this. It's too bad they couldn't get Champions League rights; I don't think I would have paid over the top for access to those games, but it would have been nice for a non-Bleacher Report option.

With the entirety of the FA Cup so far not on regular TV, I'm glad they didn't get it. They'd have the same setup as Bleacher Report/TNT and charge even more.

    GREAT IDEA ....

I'm thinking as a competition ... users design all-original logo and uniforms for a team, and everybody votes (various categories).....??

That happens during the Logolympiad. Keep your eyes open.

I don't understand why football divisions have to equal basketball.  The 65 big football teams could be division 1 football, and division 1 basketball can just be whoever wants to be.  I think we're working too much within the confines of how the NCAA is currently shaped, but they already have more divisions for football than basketball, so they'd just be creating one more.

But if they break completely from the NCAA, they would need to realign themselves as separate in all sports. If they simply are adding another football conference under NCAA rules then they will still be treated differently, pretty much like they are now when it comes to handing out bids in the basketball tournaments.

Since the big 5 conferences are really the only ones that always have a good chance at the playoffs and pretty much control everything, why don't they just make "Division 1" just those conferences, and have what's left of current FBS just be their own division?

If the reported Group of 5 playoff happened, this is what would happen.  But now that would create an even bigger gap between the Power 5 and Group of 5 and an even bigger gap for those not in FBS to deal with.

Anyone have any info on Baylor getting all new uniforms next year? sounds like my beloved neon is going away 😕

With football still wearing Elite 51 I would expect them to move up to the latest Nike template. Neon was never officially part of the team color scheme but works for the basketball teams.

A stadium deal is sweet, but long-term it's your market size that matters the most, especially in a sport like baseball where so much of the revenue comes from local television.

I always hear people bring up how the Browns moving to Baltimore is a move that shouldn't have happened. From a fan's perspective this is an easy argument to make, but from a financial one, the move to Baltimore long term has made the franchise more valuable.

The lousy move from that time I don't understand is Bud Adams moving the Oilers from Houston to Tennessee. Regardless of what the stadium situation would have been in Houston, its the sixth largest metro area in the country. Where do you think you're going where you're getting a better situation than that?

Since NFL TV revenue is a more equitable split than MLB, he only really loses out on local income from broadcasting preseason games and clothing sales. Additionally, the lame duck year in Houston was preceded by declining attendance. Though that wasn't the case in Cleveland, both stadiums needed repairs or a replacement. The biggest complaint form NFL fans of the Browns move was that Art Modell was so reticent to threaten the city with a move that when it was actually being reported most city employees laughed it off until the moment he stepped off the plane in Baltimore. I think had he been out front and said, "I've saved the Indians for years by letting them play at Cleveland Stadium for almost nothing and I'm not being taken care of" . , the city may have had to wait to open a new stadium in 1999 but the original team would have been going into it instead of an expansion squad.

The more I see the new BottomLine, the less I like it

(and to continue to beat the dead horse, no, NBC didn't give Notre Dame Football the SNF graphics, either)

Them changing down and distance to yellow when Michigan had the ball was confusing. Lots of folks thought penalties were being called since that's where the flag reminder pops up.

Hi guys! Love this thread. Just downloaded photoshop free trial for one week and will be trying this stuff out. However I was wondering if I should go for Photoshop or Illustrator? Perhaps both? I just want to make jerseys and sport logos. Currently I am just using paint.net and nba 2k so thats in no way near this complex. Id appreciate any help or suggestions.
Anyone got anymore tips and tricks?

If you only intend to design uniforms with premade logos, just use Photoshop. If you want to design logos I'd suggest using both.

The word "bold" scares me. I love the dolphin jumping through the JU. I hope they stick with something like that.

Btw, I noticed in that article that JU is a member of four conferences. How common is that?

It depends on what sports are involved. Ohio State is in three conferences due to women's hockey and men's volleyball not being Big Ten championship sports. Smaller schools (Div. II & III) are similar based on sports like swimming/diving, lacrosse and field hockey not necessarily being played at all the member institutions of the primary league.

In the broken record category, NBC's still not converting to the SNF graphics full time as the EPL starts with the usual graphics.

Did NBC spend all that time and energy on a package to only be used on NFL telecasts or are they just taking their sweet time to implement it to everything else? Not that it's a bad thing as both look great and are better than their big 4 counterparts, just odd how they've done this rollout given in the past they do them all at the same time

As clean as the EPL scoreboard is I wouldn't want them to use the NFL graphics.

I know Fort Wayne is exclusively part of the Purdue system now, but how does the blue even fit in?

Also, I hate hyphenated names. Its been 50 years since most teachers colleges were joined to a flagship school by state sponsored shotgun weddings. Can't they stand on their own names by now?

Most can't, thus we see Ohio State-Newark and Kent State-Tuscarawas. The community needs the help from the main campuses to support those schools.
