That would be great if it did, and I hope that it does.  But...

Do you know what sort of football NFL fans like? The NFL and to a lesser extent NCAA.

And those people who can't afford to go to NFL games might want to catch the UFL and enjoy pro football that's still creating it's own fan experience.

None of what you are posting addresses why I made the comment about attendance range in the 5-7k area.

Overall folks need to chill out on the "sky is falling" mentality over the attendance. I'm quite sure there are a lot of folks like me that have bought in heavily on past spring leagues to only see them falter and vanish and are taking a more cautious approach to fandom this time around.

I'm watching at least parts of almost every game, catching highlights on YouTube and the like, but I'm not "all in" as I have been in the past.

I'd bet this is even more rampant in towns (Birmingham, Memphis, San Antonio) that have seen many spring football teams come and go.

Patience, I'd bet the folks running this thing are a little better at making the decisions that we are.

The Panthers were able to get a booth near the NFL Draft, if not inside the main area itself, so at least this should help get some fans interested in the two remaining games they have. Hopefully they get at least 10,000 but I think that depends just as much as how they do before then as it does their marketing pitches at the booths.

Possibly stupid question here... but how much heavier are they? They seem like they would serve a purpose with hits but I cant imagine trying to run and juke with with massive thing on my head.

The weight isn't that much more. In fact, adding too much weight actually increases the chances of injury so that's taken into consideration when these are used.

I think these would be better than the Guardian caps aesthetically, but how do they compare for protection? SAFR caps at least look like football helmets and can have the decals applied.

MLB tried to give pitchers external headgear to protect from comebackers, but I only remember one pitcher using it.

Image result for mlb pitcher headgear

Function and safety need to be the priorities, of course, but I could see players refusing the caps while voluntary for the look.

There's also a skull cap that people can wear under a regular hat that doesn't look so outlandish as this one does.

I think the one thing the league knew coming in was that they need to show the desire to stay in place. The XFL wasn't expecting to make profit for 5 years from 2023. The TV numbers have remained steady, which is something that hadn't happened with either league last year.

Having very competitive games helps keep people glued to the channel, and except for maybe four games so far they've all been close right up until the last two minutes.

teams that could be looking: Cowboys (if Dak walks away), Giants, Jets, Raiders, Seahawks, Rams, Steelers, Titans, Browns and Saints

I think Cleveland would be better off grabbing Justin Fields if they are moving away from Watson. Pittsburgh apparently only want him and Russ for this season. We're already dealing with one diva at quarterback this season, we don't need one who's father is the diva.

I have to say it's been weird to see UFL players practice with them, but not having them in the same colors as the team, but I'd expect that won't be an issue for NFL players that want to wear them in games.

Brings up a good point on attempting to reduce injuries as they’re happening too fast.

I don't think the injury bug is worse this year than normal, but you also have idiots that are trying to say that if they kept the old XFL kickoff players wouldn't be on the injured list. Those injuries would have occurred regardless of the style of kickoff, because those players weren't tackling properly.

Coach Prime is going to hype his son Shedeur up as a first round pick.

And say that whomever has the first pick can't draft him because Dion doesn't like their third string LT.

Next years QB class looks bleak, which is why I suspect everyone is reaching.

Didn’t really want Nix but would rather him than McCarthy and he seems to be a pretty good fit for Payton’s offense, so whatever.

I think you have a point, other than Carson Beck, Quinn Ewers, who's going to be available that moves the needle? Cam Ward and Dillon Gabriel might be able to move up in the draft with their stats, but Gabriel will have to deal with some tougher defenses in the Big Ten this year and Ward is at Miami which brings its own challenges. Cade Klubnick could come out, but I don't think that he's any better than what quarterbacks are still available in this year's draft. Will Howard has the chance to do something at Ohio State, but he might not even be the starter in August unless Chip Kelly decides to go with age before talent. DJ might help Florida State win a lague title and a playoff game, but he's more likely yo be playing in the UFL or CFL than he is in the NFL.

Trying to imagine what vertical sleeve stripes would look like, and I'm not a fan, especially at the expense of TV numbers. But to each their own.

Ohio State had something like that in the 1950's. Eventually it became the sleeve stripes under Woody Hayes.

  12. Info on some of the stadiums being used this year, as well as some of the fan gear. It's pretty echoey though.

Also, former Cleveland Browns great Joe Thomas is coaching the offensive line at Stuttgart this year.

I'm not one of those people who roots for your league if your team itself is knocked out -- we don't have the coefficient stuff in North America, rivals can go to hell, MLS is ridiculous anyway -- but I have to say I like the idea of "Columbus, Ohio: continental powerhouse". Obviously MLS will take credit as if they even want that team to exist. How long before Nancy makes the leap to a European side?

Columbus just signed him to a big extension, so we know he's not long for this club. If we get to keep him for one more season after this I think we'll be lucky. I just hope he doesn't go to the EPL, because unless he's dropped into a club that looks like the Crew I don't think he'll have the immediate level of success he needs to stay long term. I do think Ligue A or a mid-table La Liga squad would be a great spot for him.

Columbus Crew win 2-1 in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup semi-finals, over Monterrey. The next leg is Wednesday at Monterrey. Club America and Pachuca tied 1-1 on Tuesday. A lot of people were ganging up on Jacen Russell-Rowe just before he headed in the winner, so that was great on his part.

It's a better version of those uniforms. I'm happy they didn't try to have that stripe go all the way across the back of the jerseys either.

I used to think the Bears had the best uniforms in the NFL, but now I firmly believe it’s the Browns.

I'd say it's a tie. The Color Rash for the Browns is so plain and generic that if you count it in the overall rating it drops the Browns to a C instead of a B+.

Side note/unpopular opinion...but boo to the Browns for ditching the awsome brown facemask in favor of the sore-thumb white one.

That brown facemask was horrible and I'm happy we have the white facemasks back. Especially since the team looks closer to the days we had Brian Sipe and Bernie Kosar.
