Not only that, but Lou Gehrig didn't replace Wally Pipp to start his consecutive games played streak! That's an urban myth, too!
CC97
Houston Astros catcher Alan Ashby hit the first home run in a division series game with his 9th inning blast off of young Dodgers pitcher Dave Stewart. The game was played at the Astrodome on October 6, 1981 during Game 1 of the National League West Division Final. And anyone who says otherwise don't know what they're talkin about --- Chris Creamer Founder/Editor, SportsLogos.Net "The Mothership" • News • Facebook • X/Twitter • Instagram

I checked, and the division series did occur in 1981, but it as we know it started in 1995.

ninjaseed
Sorry, it was just a bad question the way it all turned out.I'm sure he'll agree in restrospect.Any question that has multiple right answers is just not a good quality trivia question.Has nothing to do with the man himself. rockchalk
It doesn't have multiple answers. Tony Pena hit the first walkoff HR in current Division Series history, although Alan Ashby hit one in '81 in the extra round of playoffs due to the strike, also called the Division Series. I've decided to give up hope for all sports teams I follow
