New York High School Football Helmet Project

most high schools have extremely simple helmets, often either leaving them blank, using a simple block letter, or a recycled logo from either the college or pro ranks recolored to fit thier school

also, I think high school is the only place you will see script logos on helmets nowadays with maybe a few exceptions in college.

bosox,

Thanks again. I used your pics to update Bayshore, Patchogue-Medford, Bayport-Blueport, Longwood, and Newfield.

the North Babylon pic wasn't clear enough on he color of the NB and whether there is an outline on the NB. The Roosevelt pic is a nice side shot, but a very detailed logo that I am going to need a much bigger pic of to recreate.

Fusebazell,

Yes I did see the Central New York High School Football Site, in fact I think I got a couple useful pics from them. Thanks for the info though, any little tidbit of info towards a completion of this project is much appreciated.

Thanks to "slickster" I have filled in a couple more holes in St.Lawrence and Jefferson County.

The response I have gotten from a couple members from this board community as well as some e-mails from different media outlets across state has been amazing.

I even had a women who heads up the boosters for one of the high schools have her husband get a hold of the Head Coach so they could go in, get a football helmet out of the equipment room and take a digital picture of it.

People really take pride in their local High School teams, I'm glad I took this on.

Come on all you New Yorkers get everyone you can involved, let's fill in every blank.

Welcome to the ranks of the children of Charles Arey....

I run the site for Missouri (link below) along with designing the helmets....I also design the helmets for the site for Washington State...

When I started out, I was contemplating using the same helmets that you currently use, but didn't like the shading on them at the time....Now that I look at them more, the more I like them...

BTW.....I like the site, especially with the New York map broken down into counties...

If you ever need any help or anything, let me know.... mohelmetshs@centurytel.net....

pcqd....

I have done a small handful of Illinois helmets (they're on my site in the "Other Helmets" section)...If you want to collaborate on an Illinois Project, let me know and I'll help you out....I'm always looking to expand as is proof by adding the "Other Helmets" section to my site....

IronChefShark,

I agree with you about most HS helmets being simplistic, but I have seen some absolutely awesome decals on a few helmets....There are also some very creative decal designs, too....That's what is kind of exciting about high schools....You never know what you're gonna get to see for uniforms/helmets....
