DRutka Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 I have a question. Say someone designs a really cool logo. I?ll use an example; Against All Odd?s Virginia Longnecks basketball logo. Is it ethical to say, create a football uniform concept for the fun of it using his logo as long as you give full credit to him for the logo? OR, do you have to get permission first to use his logo? This would be only for fun and not to make any money what so ever from this. See all of my concepts at: Designed by DRutka
GMS1122 Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 i think just a PM to make sure is the best best no matter what you are dealing with GMS on dribbbleErie Apparel
Cashcleaner Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 I think legally and well, ethically, it would always be best to ask someone first. Even if it's for a bit of fun or whatnot. I don't see a lot of people having a problem with it, just so long as creidt is given where it's due. Thanks go to Eddie010 for the Signature and Avatar. Nice work, mate!
IronChefShark Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 always ask permission to use someones logo. we have had many a confrontation on here because of past incidents in which someone used someone elses logo on a uniform concept without asking the logo designer first US state flag concepts
slapshot Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 It's always better to PM the designer to let him or her know your intentions. Some designers would rather not have others design uniform concepts with their logos, so use the PM to be on the safe side. Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016
