My Gripe with MLB ballparks

Earlier today while watching the Giants-Nationals game i saw Moises Alou make one of the best catches ive ever seen. It was not really that memorable when i think of some other catches, but what makes it memorable was the yahoo fans that he had to put up with while trying to make the catch. I just hate it when i see i guy trying to make a catch at the wall or in foul territory and some dumbass fan sticks his glove on top of the players because he wants a ball. I know that getting a foul ball is pretty cool, but is it really worth risking a game for your team to get one? Hell no!!! I know one of the beautiful things about baseball is that you are so close to the action, but i think that either that needs to be changed, or they should kick out and revoke the season tickets of anyone who leans onto the field for any reason or causes a player to miss a catch. And i even know that it is sometimes unpreventable when its headed right for your seat and youve got your kid in one hand and a beer in the other, but when its to get a $9 piece of leather and string, thats when it gets rediculous.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of doing that at ball games, it's like reaching over the wall to catch a ball that's going to land fair, and then it gets counted as a homerun.

Yeah, it's extremely cool to catch a ball at a ball game, hell, thats half the fun most of the time, when you're young, you take a glove and hope one lands close to you. But if a guy was coming to the wall near me to make a catch, I'd get the hell out of the way

MLB rules says if the ball goes in the stands they fan can catch it even if the fielder is reaching over for it. In the field of play it's the players in the stands it's the fans. That's why Bartman wasn't fan interference. I'm sure he didn't see Alou. Plus, Alou couldn't have made that catch.

I know that getting a foul ball is pretty cool

Last week I took my 3 boys to a Kannapolis Intimidators(South Atlantic League) game and we got 6 foul balls. It was pretty amazing, because we got the ball fro 4 different locations in the stadium, plus all 4 of us got atleast 1 on our own.

Must be a Cubs fan. Alou had no chance, Bartman just gave him an excuse.

They should do it like they do at the All Star Game. If any fan leans over to get any ball, including one they dropped, they are kicked out. I gota ball from the All Star Game, so trust me i know how cool it can be, but that was just dumb luck. I would have never risked my ticket for a stupid ball

I do believe most teams do eject anyone who blatantly interfere's with a ball in play. They may not always cover it on camera, and the ushers don't make a scene, but those people are made to leave.

This is true -- I've had to kick out many fans for picking up fair balls
