Seadragon76
Almost seems a bit double edged, you know?On one hand, he is up in the rotation, and it's a huge game against Florida that will decide if they go onto October. The other hand, his mother just recently died and I'm sure the family needs him at this moment. NJTank
Wow and to think at one timne he claimed he retired from the Yankees so he could make it to the Hall before she died. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
Swiss
Now it's bottom 8th, Florida 1 at Houston 6.Roger pitched 6 1/3 innings. He gave up 5 hits and 1 run and struck out 4.In an at-bat, they walked him to load the bases. What a task of a LION...If the death of his beloved mommy didn't stop him, I'm thinking that Roger is propelled the Astros to and beyond the playoffs... His attitude might get up the efforts of his younger fellows...His mommy and the Rocket "It's for you, mommy!""If I can do it despite I'm mourning, YOU CAN, KIDS!!!" Jigga
Wow and to think at one timne he claimed he retired from the Yankees so he could make it to the Hall before she died. She still wouldn't have made it if he had remained retired, that was only two years ago. On January 16, 2013 at 3:49 PM, NJTank said: Btw this is old hat for Notre Dame. Mac the Knife
It's a shame to lose a parent, regardless of the circumstances. My father died in '03, and though we were far from close I still felt a sense of loss.On the plus side, maybe this will kill retirement talk for a few more years, so we can all enjoy this man's talents a la Nolan Ryan. NJTank
I think it may keep him in baseball anotehr year or two becuase as mentioned before playing on was a concern since he wanted his mom to be at the HOF ceremony. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
