Duelly
I was looking to design a logo for my softball team and was curious what software everyone here uses to do their designs/redesigns. Your suggestions and opinions are greatly appreciated...Thanks...

Shumway
MS Paint! Represent! Nothing wrong with MS Paint, I use that often as well for touch up work and for posting. I wish my old MAC still worked, I'd be ClarisWorks-ing all over this board.
Duelly
what do you think of freehand compared to illustrator?
quantum
Freehand will get the job done, but I prefer illustrator. I use Illustrator CS2 for logo and uniform creation. I started years ago with Corel Draw, and I don't think you lose any functionality. Illustrator is the most widely used. If you are sending artwork out for use by other firms, you almost have to use Illustrator. "One of my concerns is shysters show up and take advantage of people's good will and generosity". bear69designs
I use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw and markers on illustration board primarily.
BCBoy
If you want freeware you can use The Gimp I'm currenly learning how to use it, and it's not bad, it's like Photoshop in many ways, and it's definately a step up from MSPaint.
