Orange most definitely does not go with pewter- at least not in this example. I don't mind the orange as a small trim color as they use it now, but the whole jersey creates a lot of dissonance with the pants and helmets.I agree with Bucsfan... black alternates is really the only alternate that I can picture them using successfully. Not only would it look tough with the pewter, it's a logical color to go with a pirate theme. White numbers trimmed in red then orange with the existing pewter helmets and pants.
