2006 CHL Memorial Cup

DEAD!

After two games, this is a great tournament so far... Moncton is very strong in both ways of the ice. Vancouver fought hard. Quebec must keep going on the offense and crash the net more often. Peterborough will not win the Cup if they allowed 40+ shots to other teams.

This is one of the closer tournament we've had in years. The time of considering the Q League as a B league is gone. Kudos for Moncton to put a such nice tournament.

Giants play Moncton tomorrow

That's gotta be the greatest difference between teams in a CHL game ever

The greatest possible distance would be between the St. John's Fog Devils and the Portland Winterhawks.

Well, it seems like almost everyone was wrong on these boards was wrong about who would win the Memorial Cup. Moncton vs Quebec in the final.

I picked Moncton to win, over Peterborough though.

At least we killed the Petes :P

Well, the Remparts pick up the Memorial Cup with a convincing 6-2 win.

Guess it proves the point you don't need defence to win in the QMJHL... ;)

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008
