AHL to mandate visors

Ask Saku Koivu about a visor and how well it helped him!!!!! Ask Montreal Canadiens too? Most likely the reason the Hurricanes won that series.

Also some guy named Wayne did pretty good without one and said he would never wear one. Player choice all the way!

Yeah, and Red Grange ran just fine without a helmet! Or any pads at all, for that matter! So let's get all of the protective gear off of these wussy, pampered athletes, and make them play like real men again! YARRRRRRGHHHHH!

*turns off sarcasm switch*

Go back to baseball and quit being a dickhead, sodboy.

Hes dead right though. Look at the NFL. Nobody calls Ray Lewis a wimp for wearing a facemask. Hell, i hope the NHL gets to the point of the NFL, where the more protective the mask is, the tougher the dude is.

Ray Lewis should be in jail. But that is another topic.

Your going to get injuries no matter how much protection you put on player. That was the point I was making. But I am talking to a couple of Americans, who grew up with football, baseball, and basketball. You can't compair the sports at all.

You have your opinon I have mine. This should be the player choice. Respect.

I like the decision, and I'm just waiting for the day that the NHL does the same thing. However, I'm not banking on full facemasks just yet. For all of the faces that are exposed, the number of career-ending facial injuries aren't high enough to warrant it...yet. As for me, I wore an ITECH half shield/ half mask when I played. Worked perfect for me.

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

It only took one death in how many years to get nets behind the goals. Don't underestimate the litigious society we live in and how knee-jerky leagues can and will be with protective equipment.
