Or it might just be that for most of this decade, MLB has used imagery that speaks to themes of travel and vacation for spring training to sell the idea of spring training as a destination for fans. Both literally and figuratively. So this year's pastel globe would be more about making something that looks like an old suitcase label than asserting any kind of global dominance.But this is MLB after all, so you can't entirely discount the first theory.
