Gothamite
True enough, but not especially material. Most art forms are collaborative. Musicians have to satisfy producers and record labels, film directors can only go so far as the studios are willing to pay for. Designers are no different, and some manage to produce quality work in the face of idiot clients. We may feel sorry for designers who can't, but that doesn't make them immune to criticism. fsdesign
I didn't mean to imply designers are immune from criticism. If you attach your nameto a product then you should be able to take any criticism that comes along with it. Ihave no problem with criticism. I was just trying to point out, maybe not very well, that sometimes there's too much interference to overcome. Dictatorial would be abetter description in some of my experiences rather than collaborative.
Gothamite
I don't deny that either. In any collaborative art, it's only collaborative so far as those with the money allow it to be.I'm just never willing to excuse bad design on that basis. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! fsdesign
What makes it a bad design?
Gothamite
Well, I wasn't speaking specifically about this logo. Only that "the client is an idiot" is never a terribly satisfactory excuse (they are, after all, predominantly idiots ).Perhaps you can tell us about the design process for this one? I'd love to see your prelims, hear how the design evolved. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
hecticbro
That is one funny logo! Even better than their last one. Danbury must be a really wacky town.
fsdesign
Well, Gothamite, sometimes you can hardly call it a design process. They thought a mad hatcharacter would be more family friendly. I did some mad hatter characters which i thought were pretty good and edgy.

fsdesign
I really don't like to show any unused concepts because I save them for future use.In my experience nothing is really wasted. But I will say that what they didn't useis 100 times better than what they wanted.

Gothamite
The home jersey logo is better without the wordmark, but why does it need to be on the jersey three times? The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
Geoff
YES! I'm looking into designing uniforms for this league but I've had a creative block for a while. I'll keep thinking on it though. Athletic Director: KTU Blue Grassers Football
