I am looking at the Isles and Bruins standings.  I was wondering what the tiebreakers are in the NHL.  i.e. if the season ended today, what would be the way to decide who is #6 and who is #7.  I know it looks like it's wins, losses, ties, overtime losses, then goals for, but I was hoping someone would knowfor sure.

Rank                       GP W L T OTL GF GA PTS

6 Boston                  59 28 23 6 2 172 163 64

7 New York Islanders  59 28 23 6 2 161 162 64

without look at the site, my guess is...

1> Wins

2> Goal differential = ( Goals for - goals against)

It might be different now with the implentation of overtime losses.

I can't seem to find the official policy, but I believe it's something along these lines:

1. Wins

2. Head-to-head

3. Goal differential

4. Conference record

5. Goal differential in conference games

6. The ubiquitous "coin flip"
