Shanahan canned

All inclusive threads are the worst thing that's happened to these boards since Nick joined.

He was banned, and so should these stupid 50+ page threads. It seems like the only point of those is everyone wants to be the first one to start the "official" thread about something.

Indeed. The NFL thread has reached 140+ pages.

I don't quite get the dislike for long threads. It helps to keep the clutter down a bit, and nothing is more fun here than going back and reading predictions/hopes/wants/ideas from the beginning of the season.

Give me a link (without using the search function, which will take you a little while) to where the Washington Nationals new road jersey is covered.

Clutter could be controlled better if we had sub forums for the major sports leagues. Large threads are difficult to search back through. Different discussions can be more to the point in separate threads than how it is done now.

Exactly. A thread for each week in the NFL would not add any clutter, as each thread would fall to the next page before you know it. Also, threads for each unveiling should be allowed to, because the way it is now, someone new comes on, doesn't see a thread for an unveiling, and then starts one only to have it graveyarded because it's buried on page 57 of a 140 page thread.

I'm assuming that since a mod has already posted in this thread, that the Powers That Be support the multiple-thread format.

Just to stay on topic, I now feel more than ever that Shanahan will end up in Dallas - provided Jerry Jones backs off a bit from his GM role. Wade Phillips (AKA Coach Cupcake) cannot control this team, and Jason Garrett is under some fire for his play calling. Shanahan is a proven big-name who would demand respect, and solidify the offense. It's really a no-brainer from Dallas' perspective. That being said, I really hope it doesn't happen!

I agree but at some point the threads have to be a little more specific than "NFL season." That is a bit general. Right now, we're talking firings, playoffs, new coaches, and a host of other things that all fall under "NFL." My suggestion is simple. When the season ends and the firings begin let's lay off jumping someone's :censored: for starting a "Shanahan was fired" thread. Some news is big enough to have it's own thread. I think we're smart enough to know what does or does not warrant it's own thread for a particular sport.

I don't even look at the all-encompassing threads once they reach a certain level. In my opinion, it's more cluttered inside those threads trying to find what you're interested in talking about than just having separate threads with titles that allow everyone to know what they're about.
