dbadefense1990 Posted May 14, 2013 Author Share Posted May 14, 2013 Based on these promotional posters, the next national slogan for the Cup Playoffs should be along the lines of "It's Time for the Cup."The league's current "Because it's the Cup" slogan is kind of lazy and lacks the spark of being a great playoff catchphrase. The NBA's trademark (i) is specific to various types of merchandise, and (ii) specifically references "The Finals." Consequently, as long as the NHL used "Stanley Cup Finals," they'd be fine... and even if they didn't, as long as they didn't use the phrase "The Finals" on merchandise, they'd still be fine.
