IceCap
They've made $300 million so far. $800 million's not bad for owning a team that struggled at the gate, was about to move to Utah, and wasn't even one of the teams selected for the merger anyway.Just so long as this doesn't lead to a glut of "bring back the Spirits of St. Louis" comments. What an overrated identity. Mac the Knife
So to review... the NBA required each of the four ABA franchises who were admitted $ 3.2 million in indemnification payments. $ 12.8 million total. If this deal's finalized, denying the Silna's a franchise will have only resulted in a net loss of $ 787.2 million.I blame Stern.

jhans203
Had the NBA said all six teams could've come in, the Spirits would've moved to Utah and become the Rockies. What would've happened to the Jazz? Do they tough it out in New Orleans? Move to St.Louis or one of the cities that got an expansion team in the late 80's?Battistone wanted to be closer to his California home so I wouldn't have been surprised if he tried to move the Jazz somewhere like Anaheim or LA.
