John ?Earthquake? Tenta has passed away at the age of 42 after a lengthy battle with bladder cancer. Tenta is survived by his wife and three kids.

Tenta performed for both World Wrestling Entertainment and World Championship Wrestling throughout the 90s. He made multiple appearances on wrestling?s grandest stage, participating in matches at WrestleManias VI, VII, VIII, X and X-Seven.

In 1992, Earthquake and his partner Typhoon, collectively known as "The Natural Disasters?, defeated Money Inc. to capture the World Tag Team Championship. Prior to his career in professional wrestling, Tenta made a name for himself in Japan as a highly accomplished Sumo wrestler.

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

Great memories of the Natural Disasters in their heyday. Who can forget the Earthquake vs. Yokozuna Sumo wrestling match on Raw? Anywho, he'll be missed, thanks for the memories.

I remember hearing about him when I was just getting into wrestling for the first time. I was onl about 5. I was gullible. I remember asking my cousin who's two years older than me if Earthquake has ever seriously caused an earthquake and he told me that he actually caused a 4.5 in Detroit once. I was impressed.

Rest in peace, Earthquake. You were a legend.

Wasn't he also Golga? I forget the name of his group, but the ICP did the theme song.

The Oddities, and yes he was Golga.

RIP Earthquake, I'll parade around with my Cartman doll in your honor tonight.

From ESPN.com

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Former LSU wrestler John Tenta, known professionally as "Earthquake" while competing in the World Wrestling Federation, has died at the age of 42, the school said Thursday.

Tenta, who lettered for the Tigers in the early 1980s when wrestling was a nationally renowned varsity sport at LSU, died after a lengthy battle with bladder cancer.

All of WWF's mid-90 monster heels are dying off. First Yokozuna, now John Tenta. That sounds flippant, but I'm actually depressed about it all. I liked Rick Rude, Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Yokozuna, and Big John Tenta and all of his various incarnations.

What a shame.

I loved the Natural Disasters when I was younger. It is always tragic when a wrestler passes away way too early, as was the case for Owen Hart and and Eddie Guerrero, to name just two. My prayers are with his family and I thank him for entertaining me.
