  1. Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL have changed up their colour scheme. https://www.echl.com/en/news/2019/8/gladiators-unveil-new-logo-color-scheme
  2. So will the Raptors for with "World Champions" or "NBA Champions" for their banner?
  3. Does anyone else thing the map of Michigan looks out of place on the eye? I get why but it looks forced.
  4. Apparently the Eagles did try and return it but the ECHL never responded. https://www.coloradoeagles.com/news/detail/statement-from-eagles-owner-martin-lind-regarding-kelly-cup
  5. I read somewhere that he actually opened up about the entire Nordiques thing. It had nothing to do with playing in Quebec City, it was more to do with not playing for Marcel Aubut, the Nordiques owner. Take it for what it's worth but either way, I think it worked our for the best for them as they got the key pieces that helped them to win 2 Cups in Colorado.
  6. A little disappointed that they kept the same brand. They could have started fresh with a new name, logo and jersey. Maybe timing was an issue and couldn't get it done in time for next season? Either way, Falcons could have worked or maybe use one of the names the Jets didn't use when they moved from Atlanta... Or maybe go with Winnipeg Thrashers (think there is a midget team already with that name) just as a running joke.
  7. Nanaimo was dead a long time ago after their referendum to replace Frank Crane Arena got shot down. Until they can get an arena that is completely privately financed, They won't be getting a WHL team... Which sucks because I would love to see the old Nanaimo Islanders return using the Gorton's Fishsticks logo
  8. Wasn't there plans to have the Jets AHL team play in Thunder Bay or has that plan fallen through?
  9. According to reports, this will be the final season for the Kootenay Ice. They will be relocating to Winnipeg for next season. Kind of unfortunate but I think the Ice have had some difficulty the last few years financially. Report: Kootenay Ice to relocate to Winnipeg
  10. No no, Telus, Rogers and Bell hate freedom... Us Canadians would love some unlimited data plans.
  11. And as Canucks fans we have 15 of those "We Failed" banners lol
  12. To add to it all Bettman did say the Sens aren't going anywhere and Ottawa is safe. Melnyk looks like he's trying to pull a Katz move. Next thing you know he's going to go and tour Quebec City's arena. This seems to be the new strategy for Canadian teams to get arenas they want.
  13. From what I've been seeing and reading, all the Flames are doing is standard protocol when it comes to wanting public funds to get a new arena. The Flames are not going anywhere. The other thing is is that the Flames are losing the public opinion on this issue. Calgary's mayor is one of the most popular and he's going to stick to his guns and he is projected to win the mayoral race there by a landslide. Bottom line is that the Flames will complain all they want but in the end this is just a ploy and from what the recent article said from The Hockey News, they will get their arena in the end. Dn't be surprised if the owners start scouting possible locations to relocate to as another ploy. Worked for the Oilers.
  14. Been missing your concepts and templates. Just wondering if you are still active in this and if so, do you have any rugby templates? Cheers

  15. Worked for the Oilers. I also don't believe the Flames will go anywhere. Hell, even Oilers fans would be against it as it takes away from a great provincial rivalry.
  16. Would it be out of the realm of possibility that IceArizona sells the team to Quebecor Media who move the team to Quebec City and as part of the deal the NHL gives an expansion team to IceArizona who put the team in Seattle?
  17. From the way things are going, it looks like Seattle will be getting a relocation. I'm not a business major but it really baffles me how the league can allow a team to stay in a market where it continues to lose money and how the other member club owners aren't more pissed that they have to keep this club afloat. I read somewhere that this team has not made a cent since moving to Arizona and have been in the red for their entire existence. There must be some major conspiracy theory as to why they are still around and why Bettman continues to allow them to stay. Perhaps there was an agreement between the league and their current owners that they have to stick it out for a certain amount of years before they were allowed to look at relocation and we are now seeing that happen... Or this all goes to Portland and the NHL does award an expansion team to Seattle. Either way I think that we can move the Arizona Coyote from the threatened list to the endangered list.
  18. That's the entire reason the WHL is back in Victoria. Goes back to the Jets coming back to the NHL. The rumor was that the Canucks would set up their AHL team in Victoria but the WHL didn't want to lose Victoria as a market. RG Properties number one goal when they built SOFMC was that they wanted a WHL tenant. Once the Chilliwack Bruins became available RG jumped at them and applied to move them to Victoria right away. Once the WHL approved the move, they folded the Salmon Kings of the ECHL. If the WHL blocked the purchase or move of the Bruins, then Victoria would have the AHL. I think the best move was the WHL because of what was said before with Canadians more supportive of the CHL rather than an NHL affiliated team.
  19. Wouldn't really, as they play in Kent, Washington now and I think they have got a decent following there now.
  20. With the Giants moving to Langley Events Centre, it leaves the Pacific Coliseum open. There is also Abbotsford where the Heat used to play.
  21. People always mention Victoria as an AHL market. It almost happened with the entire Atlanta to Winnipeg things a few years ago. That is the ONLY reason why Victoria now has the WHL Royals. The WHL never wanted to give Victoria an expansion team nor did they want to relocate anyone. However once they heard the Thrashers are moving to Winnipeg and the Canucks AHL affiliate would have to be moved (their current ECHL affiliate at the time was the Victoria Salmon Kings), Victoria made for the perfect match. The WHL could not give up a lucrative major junior market like Victoria so they rushed for the approval of the sale and relocation of the Chiliwack Bruins to RG Properties and to Victoria. At that time it was clear Victoria was going to get either a WHL team or an AHL team, it was just a matter of who got their first. Personally I'm happy with the WHL in Victoria with all of the history with the league as well as setting up a potential island rival in Nanaimo who has been kicking the tires of a possible new rink and WHL team for a few years now.
  22. That happened when Geoff and Russ Courtnall played together in Vancouver. They shared the same last name but didn't put their first initial. Geoff wore 14 and Russ wore 9.
  23. I don't know if that's a prototype. I remember they were late releasing the away jersey at that time and I guess EA Sports just did a colour swap of the white and blue for the game.
