  1. Never mind the acting, the director needs to be fired for not finding a way of not having the cameraman's shadow shown in the video.
  2. I was alluding to the 'C' on those pedestal uniforms. To me, it brought out 'C' more than the current/classics, both red and white. To me, that was the one redeeming aspect of the pedestal uniforms
  3. I am not going through all the posts about the Flames. I will just say, I do not mind that the Flames have black in their color scheme. Maybe I would have added some black trim to their current/classic red uniform, but really what they have now is great. What bothered me about the 00's reds was just simply using black for the flaming 'C' and the numbers. I feel they should have been white, especially the flaming 'C'. (Then again, I had always preferred that the Los Angeles Chargers have a white bolt instead of yellow ... that is different discussion )
  4. That is so crazy, I might actually want one of those
  5. At least the Bengals would have the stud quarterback named "Joe" this time around.
  6. This confounds me. Sure, the pitch was an issue, but Canada was able to find two goals. If anything, the US should have been better prepared for this match than Canada partly because Canada just came from the heat in Honduras and they now have to fly back into the heat in El Salvador. Before the game, a thought came to me that said, what if Canada just simply has that one or two players that can just finish... but, who does the US have? As it stands, Jamaica is leading Panama, If that result holds, considering Panama's next game is against Mexico, Canada, could possibly qualify in THIS window.
  7. Yeah, even I agree. This is Ivor Wynne, not Loftus Road
  8. Concacaf... there are NBA and NHL games going on too... the world doesn't revolve around the NFL.
  9. That is as warm as it's going to get this weekend. I mean they could have just played in Toronto which has a better surface
  10. Glendale would be better off converting that arena into... more retail space. (or a parking lot)
  11. I would have thought a player actually would be better off playing in a league with a August-May schedule this year. I think players will be well rested the get in more peak form by the time this world cup comes. I think the hope is that MLS can turn into that second-level destination where you can command larger transfer fees, but also can use that monies to get some quality in return. I am thinking the likes of Ajax, and the top Portugeses clubs. Heck, there are even teams within the top leagues that often act as a feeder club anyways. I think, for now, MLS needs to do better in the Concacaf CL, and have anyone of the Concacaf nations do well this world cup.
  12. The MLS has definitely improved its stature in recent years, and I see it was a top 15 league, for sure, but I have a hard time putting it in top 10. It is still not even as good as Liga MX. I do not see it as higher than Brazilian, Argentinian, Dutch, or Portuguese leagues. It is possible the worst MLS clubs can beat the worst of those league, but not at the top. I also think the MLS needs to increase the wages at the lower end of the pay scale and increase the salary cap, or get rid of it altogether. Yes, if that results in "super club(s)" then so be it. In fact, I say the MLS needs a super club like a Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. In a perverse way, if that super club can compete on a global level, then it might actually draw more interest in the league from outside and you might get players who actually aspire to play in the league instead of being a stepping stone.
  13. That may have been the most incredible, insane, entertaining weekend of football.... in my lifetime at least. Each subsequent game was out-doing the one previous, like saying, "Hold my beer" . If I had rank the games by entertainment AND insanity, I would go with : 4. Cincinnati at Tennessee If anything this game was more "insane than entertain" The game itself was most notable for having a quarterback being sacked NINE times, and yet, was on the winning side. The inexplicable Tannehill interception that led to the field goal would put the insanity level up. In most years, this game would have been number 1 or 2 on the list. 3. Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay I rank this here because it was more entertaining than the Benglas-Titans. Stafford-Brady was a good duel. Had the Buccaneers won the game, the insanity level would have went way up, but just the comeback, itself, was entertaining enough. 2. San Francisco at Green Bay OK. It was the insanity factor that help rank this higher than LAR-TB. Yes, the entirety of of game was not the most entertaining.... but it was the moments. A blocked field goal and blocked punt that went up in the air like an infield pop-fly really jumped out... and yes, Jimmy Garoppolo was capable enough to lead the Niners to within field goal range in the final drive. (Give credit the Niners defense for the entirety of the game) 1. Buffalo at Kansas City I may have ranked this number 1 just for the sheer entertainment value. Two really good quarterbacks who went back and forth. There were deep touchdowns, last minute drives, and let's throw in the missed PAT. That final two minutes in regulation was like watching two heavyweight boxers just throwing with every intent to knock the other out at the end of the 12th round.
  14. If the NFL Divisional Round is like drinking alcohol, I may have just have permanently damaged my liver...
