  1. And that is the very reason why Jazz fans (not to mention most people roaming these boards and making the decision-makers in the NBA) are against changing the name. It would be a revisionist nightmare of epic proportions. EDIT: Not to forget that the franchise is entering its 36th season of play in Salt Lake as opposed to its first 5 in New Orleans How is that revisionist? No one is suggesting they should pretend the Utah Jazz never existed, just that the name should be changed. Well, let's put it this way: With the Charlotte Hornets, v2.0 being seen as the NBA's Cleveland Deal, a theoretical return of the Jazz moniker to New Orleans with Utah renaming themselves, say, the Stars, would raise a lot more questions than what we have with the current situation, such as:
  2. Because of what today is, I'm bringing back my unrealistic love for this jersey set/logo. Don't have a clue why, but
  3. Missing this Grand Rapids Griffins alternate.
  4. I didn't recognize him. Wrong jersey, wrong number, wrong helmet (visor)
  5. These are fantastic. I just hope they used the glow-in-the-dark thread for the neon embroidery. That would put this identity over the top.
  6. Yup. They're sticking to their guns on this one.
  7. I can't really say until I've experienced the OHL. I've always felt that OHL will be better supported in Hamilton, because ultimately, it is still Leafs country. Having the Habs' affiliate here made it hard to draw Leafs fans to support the team, and having an affiliation at all made it hard to really adopt the team as Hamilton's. However, in speaking with fans, they seem to be disappointed that they're disappointed that pro hockey is leaving. As much as it was not supported, it was awesome to see guys like Dan Cleary, Ty Conklin, Jason Chimera, Francois Beauchemin, Jaroslav Halak, Carey Price, P.K. Subban, Max Pacioretty, David Desharnais, Dustin Tokarski, and Devan Dubnyk before they became household names in the NHL. The professionalism of it will be missed, but new opportunities will be embraced. Check back with me after next season to see which one I prefer.
  8. Was at the last Bulldogs game. Didn't really hit home until the beginning of the third period. They did well to honour the team's history throughout the night, with video messages from alumni such as Price, Subban, Plekanec, and Ajay Baines (scored Calder Cup winner in 07)
  9. Now to get the Panthers/Yotes to pull out of Cincinnati so that the Jackets can take over the Cyclones instead of having their prospects in the 'Zoo. An all-Ohio affiliation would be awesome, and go a long way to finally establishing the Jackets as Ohio's team.
  10. That's definitely the wrong uniform for Sandstrom, because that's not Tomas Sandstrom. That's Steve Duchesne.
  11. On the topic of ECHL All-Star logos, here's 2008's from Stockton
  12. And the Beast (or the new bulldogs..or whatever) move to the AHL? But with what players? Gotta have an affiliation. I had thought earlier today that there was some traction for Ottawa moving the B-Sens to Hamilton, but then I saw that they re-upped in Bingo till 2019.
  13. Honestly, Hamilton makes more sense for Winnipeg than St. John's does. (I know that's not what they're doing) Quick horror thought: What if it's the Brampton Beast who end up in Hamilton?
  14. Plus the fact that "phantom" sleeve yoke striping predated Reebok: Except that's a black yoke on a navy jersey, not a phantom yoke.
