  1. That's fair, but I think the Vikings already look dated.
  2. Is the successful result of that hiding somewhere because I've never seen it.
  3. The only issues I had with that set were the dumb pants stripes and the side panels. The helmet stripe was kinda silly, but it wasn't awful. Lose the side panels, fix the pants stripes, and that's a really nice uniform. I always liked the colors.
  4. Now the Browns just need to find a way to be as much fun to root for as the Kosar and Sipe teams were.
  5. No argument here. If there's going to be a better save in the playoffs, I can't wait to see it. Holy indeed.
  6. Lack of effort is being kind. He basically just stood there. That takes no effort.
  7. I got a little nervous when the Caps scored right out of the gate and again when they made it 4-3, but the Rangers closed the deal. Being up 2-0 is better than being 1-1 or 0-2, but you're right, it's a still long way from over. How about that K'Andre Miller shorthanded goal?
  8. Is anyone watching the playoffs or is everyone too busy with the fan credentials d**k measuring contest?
  9. The difference being Ohio State makes red look good most of the time*. *Despite having one of the best looks in college football, we do have the occasional dumbass uniform moment.
  10. The good: The home uniform is damned near perfect. I like that instead of using the bull horns, they went minimalist. It really works. Surprisingly, the home uniform is actually an upgrade over what was a really good previous look. Replacing the red numbers with blue numbers on the road uniform looks pretty good. The bad: I should take the easy route and just say everything else, but that's not what we do here. Truncated pants stripes. The bull horns on the road and alternate jerseys are dumb. They're a classic example of Nike not knowing when to stop. Huge downgrade that ruins what could have been a very solid road look. The entire bull motif. The players aren't bulls and no one thinks they look like bulls. They aren't comic book characters, they're football players. Adding bull horns doesn't enhance their abilities, it just makes the jersey look weird. The "teams need to look like what they're named after" nonsense needs to stop before my Buckeyes end up wearing brown, tan, and green. The bull horn on the alternate helmet is not great. It needs more contrast. A simple fix would be to make the inside part white. It wouldn't make the helmet any better, but at least you'd be able to clearly see that the players are supposed to be bulls. Full disclosure: I've never seen a bright red bull with blue horns. The alternate with white pants wouldn't be the worst thing ever, but the head to toe read is awful. The H-Town uniform is a complete and utter disaster. While I can respect telling the Titans to off, you gotta do it a lot better than this. Grades: Home uniforms - A Road uniforms - D Alternate - F (C- with white pants) H-Town: Dumpster fire.
  11. Good luck with that. For the record, I'm not annoyed, I was attempting (and failing, apparently) to be humorous.
  12. First off, I don't "make excuses." I state my opinion. My uniform opinions are based on one thing - does the uniform look good? I don't give a flying about "design process" or any of the other industry-speak that tries to justify an aesthetic disaster. It's not about "playing it safe" vs. being "bold" or whatever. The design is either good or it isn't. Anything after that is just a circle jerk that I'm not particularly interested in taking part in. Your opinion might be different from mine and that's perfectly OK. You aren't going to change my mind and I'm not going to change yours. How about we move on and annoy different people?
  13. What if I value aesthetics over both of those?
  14. True, but the Eagles aren't wearing white helmets, brown jerseys with sublimated feather textures, and yellow shoes and socks because it represents the quality craftsmanship and hardworking, high flying example of the American eagle. That's the difference.
  15. And I look at it as Denver being the clear losers. Respectfully.
  16. The NFL has teams using "swords for shoulders" and "bull horns" on their jerseys and claiming "triangles represent dissipating oxygen." This stopped being about looking professional a while ago. .
  17. My guess is someone was saying the same thing about the NBA back when it started adding alternates.
  18. How about this? We've reached the point where even logo geeks like us can tune in an NBA game and have no idea who's playing because the teams have so many uniforms. It's like if Coca-Cola had 20 different "can combos" for Coke Classic and most of them had an alternate logo and colors. That's how it dilutes the brand.
  19. Who had Denver being the clear loser in this year's new uniform Olympics?
  20. Just my take, but it's like they're shouting "hey, look at us!" - just like a mid-tier college team does to try to get attention. You're not the UTEP Miners of the "who gives a conference", you're the Denver Broncos of the NFL. Dress accordingly.
